Contrary to what people think, @CBSNews has been digging into the hospice fraud for a long time. As an independent journalist whose work helped put city officials in prison, I know these investigations take many months. I also understand the frustration with mainstream media jumping on the bandwagon after someone like me breaks a story — however, Nick Shirley is not a journalist. He’s a guy who gets in people’s faces with a video camera gonzo style and does zero homework except asking locals to put together a packet of stories by local reporters like me and then doesn’t give credit. No one has been arrested or gone to jail on his social media stuff. I’m glad to see @bariweiss returning CBS to a real news outlet again.
