@Arkhairo Also, I think his movies in the last 15 years or so (with - maybe - the exception of Dunkirk) have been moving on a thematical trajectory that, starting from an emphasis on Man as inventor, explorer and creator, is beginning to simultaneously reflect on Man as creature.

I will wait to see the movie to have a strong opinion, but looking at it so far I concede that it takes a lot of talent to make The Odyssey, of all stories, look disenchanted.
("Defy the Gods" is still a stupid tagline in the whole horizon of Greek mythology)

I’m not sure how effective it will prove to be as a marketing strategy in this case, with so much anticipation, so much competition (I’m just a casual enjoyer of Villeneuve’s Dune movies, but I found the latest trailer impressive) and such a well-known subject matter.

@FrMatthewLC I understand why you’d be upset at the wording, but I think Gibson was talking more about the symbolic/visual impact of his own movie than about the events he’s portraying. “Passion” was bold, but reverent.

Maybe it's just me, but describing the harrowing of Hell as "an acid trip" makes me much less excited about Gibson's Resurrection movie.
