I'm actually surprised people disliked Leon in this since they did a good job with showing the naive and uncorrupt nature that gets twisted by what he sees. They even show how he would have been teased by the other cops (like with the puzzle in re2r where they locked his desk)

@Seth_SIN_CEO The problem with that lore bit is that it comes from the art books like The Making of Biohazard rather than the game, which never explains how the creature came to be. A lot of people are going to miss it because of that

@Seth_SIN_CEO It's probably on par with the lore of chimeras, which were created by abducting homeless women who would later be artificially inseminated against their will while the embryo would be injected with fly DNA and T-virus. Of course they died after giving birth

@Eclipsome Thinking about it, outside of Lisa Trevor (whom of course was properly implemented in the remake), that's probably the darkest lore chunk in the whole franchise isn't it.

@Eclipsome True that! I always felt that it was turned into an RE4 "run away from the boulder"-like sequence that is even more scripted than the OG (where you could at least make him escape if you shoot him enough and then he would appear in the B scenario)

@RealTruggler A huge portion of the RE fanbase doesn't really like nor care about horror, neither they are curious to check what inspired the series. They're just there because they like the cardboard cutout characters and want to see them doing outlandish stunts at the expense of the tone

@edward18517 @AestheticGamer1 It doesn't necessarily needs to be completed, but another story about someone trying to and screwing up in the process could be interesting. In truth, I just want to see that kind of monster design and gradual mutations again but with a spin to it

@Eclipsome @AestheticGamer1 I think the issue with G is that, if it actually was completed...there'd be like not much you could go beyond that 😄 it was pretty much meant to be the end goal of the founders of Umbrella. There is a bit more that they do with it though since it's used to make T+G and C.

You fight a shark, giant plant, dragon, giant drill machine, a Xenomorph rip-off, a gender-swapped Tyrant with heels built in her feet, leeches who hive mind into a human man who opera sings, a bondage man-spider, human-animal hybrid Hunters, all in the Resident Evil games.

@edward18517 @AestheticGamer1 To be fair, it's kind of a bummer that the G-virus is a one and done deal. Especially considering the fact that there are tons of T variants by now I'd like to see a similar but more restrained concept as the scrapped one in the future

@Eclipsome @AestheticGamer1 It more just wasn't intended to be shown originally. 2's Director, Kamiya, was done with directing RE after 2 but he agreed to do it again when they offered 3 with a new system to mess around with (PS2) but that all ended up becoming DMC.There is "futuristic spinoff stuff" though

@Eclipsome @AestheticGamer1 What G was meant to do is still in the series. It was to be the key to finally achieve Spencer's goals of evolution to his new evolved world. G3 in particular is noted as being the creature's "apex".

Ryoji put that in so that it'd have a more iconic aesthetic when compared to 1.5's G, but all that is is piling up of malforming replications in its incomplete nature.The images though come from Kamiya's beta of RE3/4 that became Devil May Cry

@Eclipsome @AestheticGamer1 It kept Sherry from suffering the ill-effects of the mutation. She's arguably not what would've happened either. What it was supposed to do was create an evolved race of humans presumably who were immortal and potentially induce willful mutation going by what was planned for 3/4.

@isfftwitch @TigoODonnell 5 is absolutely a mediocre game 4 had QTEs but nowhere near the same amount as 6 and certainly not for looking for car keys. And 4 had a near perfect pacing, it knew when to slow things down and the only diving segment is at the end as a victory lap

You know the famous story of how the first draft of Resident Evil 4 was a drastic change from the series but was so good that Mikami told Kamiya to make it into what him & the team wanted, resulting in Devil May Cry? That should have happened with Resident Evil 6.

@edward18517 @AestheticGamer1 And somehow the vaccine completed it? The intended goals of the virus don't matter as much as the effective results. Also the C-virus, which was essentially a cocktail virus with G in it, does the same: it repairs tissue by mutating them

@Eclipsome @AestheticGamer1 G does that because it was incomplete. It wasn't "supposed" to turn people it ever malforming entities. It just simply wasn't finished. And it operates through replication, that's why new body parts start growing out of Birkin. That replication is what allows for healing.
