Trump isn’t popular in Britain. Nor is Nigel Farage. There are pockets of people who love both, but they are relatively small. Britain’s “Trump moment” was June 2016, and that can’t be repeated, mostly because of Brexit’s failure.

@JamesHarrisNow Yeah, pretty obvious now part of the mistake (electorally) was running women against him

Extremely worrying - just to let any residents who follow me know that we've reached out to Safer Neighbourhoods Team to request a police briefing for residents following these incidents on Churchfields and Lowlands Road. Will post again with details. harrowonline.org/2024/10/18/har…

Two updates - one, the new bike racks are being used! Happy about that😎. And this Saturday we were back in Battels café for our first ward surgery on the hill in a while. I've been away at party conferences but it's good to be back - this place is so beautiful in the autumn🍂🍁

After a sojourn away from the hill, it was good to return and see the new bike racks installed on the High Street. Pleased we could use our ward budget for these🚲🚴‍♂️🚴‍♀️

Logged off for the last time at ADPH. The end of an era, the promise of a new one.

After 6 years @ADPHUK, I'm moving on at the end of August. It has been a unique privilege to work with an abundance of passionate, knowledgeable and human colleagues, DsPH and partners (past and present). Beyond grateful for the opportunity to have done my bit.

Great event this week with @LGHFabians. Refreshing to hear such clarity from new MPs and others on the need to build millions more homes - the cost of housing is a blight on Britain and a blight on aspiration and for too long, those in charge have just not got it

Appalled to see this. I know from speaking with others in the Harrow Labour group that the police have also been informed, but understand it is still a very difficult time for many in our community. This thuggery and racism has no place in Harrow (or anywhere).

This week, 53 Labour MPs have joined together to put an end to the politics of decline. We’ve had enough of politicians doing things like this (context: Britain hasn’t built a new reservoir since 1992, despite the population growing by 10 million). 🧵

I really want to read (write?) something good on the prevalence of this kind of 'art': exculpatory, highly therapised, dogmatic, labile, jargonistic but fragile; all about message not form; 'radical' in a diffuse and vapid way; never difficult; never, ever, in any way surprising.
