@admcrlsn @umichvoter I don’t think it’s jumping to conclusions to think after seeing this McMorriw statement that she very well could turn out to be another pro Israel dem masquerading as a progressive. It’s legit the majority.

Ok after some reflection and talking to people (including locals) that are smarter than me, points 3 and 4 seem way too cynical/galaxy brained. There are local factors at play, and it’s probably not some strategic 4D chess to triangulate a middle path to the nomination between El-Sayed and Stevens. I had completely forgotten that the West Bloomfield Temple Israel attack — where 140 preschoolers could have been blown up — was two weeks ago. And that for many for whom that is still raw — even in a mostly very progressive Jewish community like that — Piker’s presence nearby (both are within about an hour drive) would be raising the temperature, not lowering it. I think the difference in encouraging people to go on a guest on Rogan/Piker type streams — who have said controversial things in the past — and actively campaigning with them is an important distinction. Some may infer the latter as an endorsement of their views. Which, no matter what you think of Hasan, you have to admit that some of what he has said could be hurtful to some Jews at a time when many are already deeply concerned for the safety of them and their children. For those who think McMorrow is bought and paid for by AIPAC, I would like to remind them that they are expressly backing Stevens in this race, and that McMorrow has stressed that she has not and will not take money from AIPAC. Anyway, I’m willing to bet it’s not a strategic move, it’s a line in the sand for her. If you disagree with what she said, that’s fine. Your voice will be louder than those that appreciate what’s she’s doing because that’s what algorithms do — promote conflict. Important to remember that Twitter is not real life. I like Abdul, and totally get why people are voting for him. But let’s not jump to the worst conclusions about other candidates just because tensions are high.
Adam Carlson@admcrlsn

1) I think people in this online echo chamber majorly overestimate how much normal people/Michiganders know and care about Hasan Piker. 2) I’ve had major issues with some things he’s said, but IMO he’s not in the same realm as Nick Fuentes. 3) This pivot from McMorrow seems like a strategic bet that Stevens voters are more gettable than El-Sayed voters, and maybe that more undecideds are deciding between McMorrow and Stevens. And that she was never going to outflank Abdul on being progressive or on Israel-Gaza — essentially conceding the left lane and trying to chart a Goldilocks path to the nomination. 4) Whether intentional or not, I think this will make it more likely that AIPAC will turn their fire on El-Sayed alone, rather than both McMorrow and El-Sayed (which seemed to be their plan before).

The Hawks are 5-point underdogs in Boston tonight... if you enjoy that sort of thing. Clean injury report for Atlanta. Jaylen Brown, Derrick White, Neemias Queta are listed as questionable for the Celtics, and Nikola Vucevic is out. Hawks aiming for 15th win in the last 16.

The Hawks are 10.5-point home favorites against the Warriors tonight... if you enjoy that sort of thing. Clean injury report for Atlanta. Golden State has 11 (!) players on the injury report, including 6 players (Steph, Horford, KP, Moody, etc.) already ruled out.

@HowEPhil Rode my bike on the unopened but basically open section at Bill Kennedy to Boulevard today. Heavenly. It would be so great if all the tourists just stayed on the Eastside trail.

@d1no_nugget @EdgewoodAdam @lilbrudder2 @karthikpuru91 The distinction exists for a reason. Millennial existence is defined more or less by a young childhood in the 90s and teen years in the 2000s. I fucking watched Jordan Peele on mad tv when I was growing up, he's not a millennial he was born in 79 ffs.

just hit me that the millennials haven’t (yet) made great art a lot of hyper-successful brands & commercial products, but no millennial literature, music or film that so far looks like it’ll stand the test of time

Inconvenience folks who work in Midtown trying to get home and folks who work outside of Midtown and live in Midtown trying to get home. Anyone run a study of how this would impact traffic flow in Midtown? Guess not. Disaster.
Midtown Atlanta@MidtownATL

🚴🚦 Hooray! Juniper St bike lanes are officially OPEN southbound from 14th St to Ponce. All traffic, ped + bike signals are operating. While the lane is open, there could be temp closures as contractor is still working to address punch list items. 🙏 Thx for hanging in there.

Maybe I'm missing something, but the criticism seems to be that Talarico had the nerve to... tell them to their faces... that he thought he would be the best Senate candidate. To people who themselves had an interest in running for the seat.
