You don’t understand the issue. DOL has categorized Trainers as “Gaming”. We argue we are “Agriculture”. We handle livestock Not wagers. Because the DOL has us as Gaming, they are wanting to treat Trainers like factory workers. If your horses are on a farm, you are clearly Ag. All racetrack facilities in America the properties are zoned Agricultural. Nearly every horse trainer in America pays a weekly wage, and it is reasonable pay. Well within and about any hourly minimum wage requirements. However the DOL wants hourly because of our Gaming categorization. This means that every Trainer for the past hundred years has been violating the DOL requirements, since they’ve recently decided we are Gaming. You’re welcome for the education 🤣🫡. Breaking - The track vet at Aqueduct scratched Miss Apples today. Tough to hear when the trainer says she 100% disagrees with the decision and we’ve been waiting a year for this day. The horse is doing great and she thought she was gonna win and has showed no issues in training and our own vets think she’s perfect. Reason given was lame left hind. Can’t race again till May at the earliest. Vets doing their jobs I guess. I wouldn’t want to race a horse with any issues but when nobody agrees with that 1 vet it’s tough. Maybe I’ll pass on buying more horses at @OBSSales today. I’m sad.
