Today @Ghost crossed $10M ARR, as a bootstrapped non-profit foundation building open source software. Indie publisher revenue earned with Ghost now ~$130M, and accelerating. The world of technology is shifting rapidly, and so is the world of media, creators and journalism. It's hard to keep up with, and even harder to predict. My strong belief, though, is that open software that you own and control is going to be even more important and relevant in the future than it is now. So we're going to keep building it.

Alright, I'm publishing it. I've had a lot of questions over the last few weeks about how @Ghost is going to avoid ending up in the same situation as WordPress. A lot of trust in open source has been broken. So, I spent some time writing up how we structure and think about business, governance, open source, community, and ecosystems more broadly. Our setup is pretty different to most, and while I certainly don't think we've got it all figured out — I think our model is especially relevant at this particular moment in time. I think the idea of a tool that allows people to realistically portray themselves in the way they *prefer* to look, rather than how they actually look, is kind of fascinating. Is it "real" ? No, I suppose not. But definition of real is going to shift over the next few years ✨

Alright @levelsio finally talked me into trying photoai.com He's been showing me results for years at this point, but I'm pretty blown away Most interestingly: I prefer many of the AI generated images of me to real of photos of me 😅

@QuinnyPig @Ghost would be the way. @JohnONolan and @ErisDS are awesome people who have built something that 11 years later is still going strong - its open, transparant, no ads, no growth hacking. It is exactly what you would expect from an Open Source publishing platform.
