For those out there curious, this wasn't a simple decision for genesis. There are a lot of moving parts to extending a schedule like this (incl. staff/security hours etc). This is something that should be applauded for going the extra mile on GX3's part.

@Skylord_Guthix Just FYI the top cut is usually all Bo5 at Genesis, but until we know the final size of the bracket it's hard to say if that would be Top 64, Top 48, Top 32 depending on the final schedule etc.

@toothbrushbutt I will say that historically in Rivals 1, online brackets were usually treated as being the lowest weighted tournaments in whatever tier they were in, and hopefully R2CS will maintain that trend.

ok i do have a crashout but it's just tl;dr online brackets should never be held to the same standard as offline majors, especially when it's on a fucking weekday. that's weird as fuck for so many reasons and these decisions are not made in the best interest of the community

@EvXReborn_ @toothbrushbutt note best way for us to see how hard it is for people to sign up is to not register. (Just since you mentioned us seeing based on the number of DQs, when it's way easier to see if reg is low than go through every match, and the time is announced ahead of time anyway)

@sophiloR2 So TLDR not perfect, but it's a compromise to allow more people to enter which we think is important for online events. Accessibility is nice for these since people can participate from anywhere

@sophiloR2 We've played with the alternative in the past (just making the reg deadline earlier) but people did not enjoy it, and it resulted in tons of special requests to enter closed brackets because people forgot to sign up until the last day for onlines

No flame just constructive input. Second RCS event that has no GameCube controller adapter at setups until the actual bracket has started. I believe no one is here for CEO from @RivalsOfAether but I imagine we can get the message across that these are required.
