Today’s Palestinians were once Jewish, then some became Christians, then later they became Muslims. The great stupidity of statements like this is that, if Israelis even want to make this argument, then it means they’ve committed a genocide against their ancient ancestors.

@steveplotnicki IMO the whole question is irrelevant. The organizing principle of the modern Israeli state is that Palestinians, who are unambiguously indigenous, do not have a right to their own land, while people whose indigeneity is *at best* rooted in tenuous ancient claims inherently do.

What's funny is the biblical account (while admittedly mythical and not a basis for contemporary international law in any case) completely contradicts this... which any Jew who just had a seder ought to be freshly aware of.
