Read between the lines on Anthropic's Mythos obvious marketing stunt: "This model is too powerful to release" Translation: It's not ready because of the pace of improvement is slowing down and we need to buy time to assuage the fears of our investors to whom we've promised the world. "It found all these vulnerabilities professional security researchers missed" Says the company that accidentally leaked half a million lines of internal source code just last week. Anthropic even admits an earlier version of Mythos accidentally publicly posted a user's artifact, but says it's somehow safer than currently released Opus/Sonnet models. So it's simultaneously more dangerous and more safe. Make it make sense. Current models are already really good at finding vulnerabilities, so to suggest there has to be some private consortium of gatekeepers to use this new technology responsibly is misdirecting at best, conspiratorial at worst. Sounds to me like everyone is trying to protect all the skin they've put in the game, but this bubble ain't going to last forever.
Josh Kale@JoshKale

This is big... Anthropic just announced a model so powerful they won't release it to the public out of fear over the damage it will cause 😨 Claude Mythos Preview found thousands of zero-day exploits in every major operating system and web browser... The numbers are hard to believe: > $50 to find a 27-year-old bug in OpenBSD, one of the most security-hardened operating systems ever built > Under $1,000 to find AND build a fully working remote code execution exploit on FreeBSD that grants unauthenticated root access from anywhere on the internet > Under $2,000 to chain together multiple Linux kernel vulnerabilities into a complete privilege escalation exploit For context: these are the kinds of findings that previously required elite security researchers working for weeks. Anthropic engineers with no formal security training asked Mythos to find exploits overnight. They woke up to working code the next morning. The results were so impressive Anthropic assembled Apple, Google, Microsoft, Amazon, NVIDIA, and seven other organizations into Project Glasswing: A $100M defensive coalition. They're not releasing this model publicly. Instead, they're racing to patch the world's infrastructure before models like this proliferate.

@HarmeetKDhillon Civil rights question here – I have been in the job market a while (casually looking and as of last week seriously looking) and a great deal of the time on each application is spent telling them very very specifically what race (there’s a whole section to determine which specific flavor of Hispanic you are) and probably 25% businesses ask about your sexual preferences. To avoid providing information like that which would let an employer filter you out because you are/aren’t the right race/sexuality…why not outlaw that just like asking how old you are? Can’t you as Civil Rights Division work with @SecretaryLCD Department of Labor to outlaw asking those questions which explicitly are used to filter out or filter in people based on race/gender/etc.? If a software engineer is applying for a job why does somebody need to ask for their age, shoe size, sexual kinks, very very very specific race, favorite television show, etc.? There’s no other reason other than to discriminate so why not DOJ/DOL outlaw it?

The idea of government mandating the collection of racial demographic information under the guise of "equal treatment under the law" has always been a farce. No matter how well-intentioned it seemed at the time, it was bound to be misused at some point, namely whenever a socialist takes any form of power.

The Biden Administration is directly responsible for countless American deaths. It was essentially a terrorist organization and every Biden official should be arrested and put on trial like Nuremberg, starting with the senile scumbag himself. He should die in a jail cell. They spent four years deliberately flooding our communities with as many psychotic murderous foreigners as they could. Every ounce of blood shed by these animals is on their hands. In a just world they’d all be charged with mass murder and crimes against humanity. And I’m not remotely joking when I say that.
Eric Daugherty@EricLDaugh

🚨 HOLY CRAP. The man who brutally m*rdered an innocent gas station clerk in Fort Myers, Florida is a HAITIAN ILLEGAL ALIEN caught and released by Biden in 2022 — Fox's @BillMelugin_ This is jaw-dropping betrayal. HE HAD TEMPORARY PROTECTED STATUS. This is why they ALL must go back — BEFORE they commit violent crimes! Not after. Surveillance footage shows the vicious migrant beating her to death with a hammer, after beating up her car She lost her life mere moments after leaving the store. Footage redacted due to how graphic it is. H/t @PostPositiveX

This Easter, I invite you to look at Jesus, consider what he said and did, and ask for yourself what I believe is the most important question you will ever answer: Did he really leave behind an empty tomb? And if he did, what does that mean for you? This video was made possible and in collaboration with my friends at @ChildlikeMedia.

The craziest thing about Newsom's $100 million wildlife bridge is that it will allow cougars, an apex predator, direct access into a suburban neighborhood filled with pets, children, and the elderly. It's like the radical environmentalist version of The Purge.

After the latest Trump scandal, I'm throwing my whole support behind Democrats for the midterms. I'll gladly accept abortion, transgender mutilation, and even the occasional political assassination if it means I never have to see an offensive meme again.

If this holds it shouldn't be surprising. There's been too much focus on optics, only deporting "criminal illegal aliens" and "the worst of the worst". Trump has stated he wants to do mass deportations "humanely" but it's a brutal process ripping people out of homes and jobs, no way around it, and it appears too many people in the administration, even Trump himself apparently, don't have the stomach for it.
Disclose.tv@disclosetv

NOW - Trump says he is adjusting his mass deportations policy to only go into cities if the mayors or governors "ask" and "say please," adding, "I don't want to go and force ourselves into a city, even if their numbers are terrible."

#Breaking: Oregon US District Court Judge Michael Simon has issued a temporary protection order prohibiting federal officers from using tear gas, pepper balls, and other crowd control munitions at the Portland ICE facility. This comes as Antifa-affiliated protesters increase attacks on federal agents and on the facility in recent weeks.

I only knew Jeffrey Epstein because of a fundraising relationship with MIT, which I very much regret. In 2019 I told Axios the last meeting I had with him was in 2015 but I was mistaken, as according to calendar entries I have become aware there were additional fundraising meetings in 2016 and 2018. These meetings were all coordinated by Joi Ito, then director of the MIT Media Lab: Apr 8, 2016, Meeting in Palo Alto Apr 29, 2016, Meeting w/ Joi Ito from MIT in Cambridge June 20, 2016, Skype Call June 25, 2016, Skype Call July 24th, 2016, Meeting w/ Joi Ito from MIT and Martin Nowak in Cambridge Mar 24, 2018, Skype Call w/ Joi Ito from MIT I have done multiple calendar searches, and if I find any other meetings, I will continue to share them. The victims of Epstein’s abhorrent and vile actions deserve all the information they are seeking, and I continue to call on President Trump to deliver that for them.

The real damning thing about our court system's inability to cope with modern politics isn't that Judge Reyes ever had the opportunity to write this in the first place, but that when she is inevitably overturned, this case will go back to her. That means we will be spending a fortune in tax dollars and probably years of litigation with everyone involved LARPing the fiction that this is a fair proceeding, that Reyes is actually going to consider the law, facts, and merits of the case appropriately. Every decision she makes will be subject to review, and most of her decisions will be overturned. We know that NOW but we can't act on that now. No, that must wait until she's finished ruling on everything, because that's the rule of procedure. Congress has to start stripping these judges of jurisdiction. Its the only way to stop this nonsense. The longer this goes on, the more clerks and law students will come to think that this is normal and how law works. This is a civilizational collapse in the making.
Aaron Reichlin-Melnick@ReichlinMelnick

NEW: Judge Reyes blocks the Trump admin from ending Temporary Protected Status for roughly 350,000 Haitians granted protection in the years following the assassination of President Moïse in July 2021. She begins with a comparison: President Washington versus Kristi Noem.
