Hard to find a line of sight to the sat in the corner of JP98. Mountains+trees and only 12deg elevation. Great view overlooking the valley beside Solbakken Camping. The ‘tropical’ spring weather was a bonus hi hi. SSB+CW+FT8. Tnx QSOs. #qo100 #hamradio #amateurradio

Right now, humans are somewhere "behind" the Moon, alone with no communication systems. I can't even imagine the awe vertigo of that vastness and being so far frome home. Fly safe #ArtemisII crew !

@F6GWE Je ne compare pas les deux. Pour moi le rrf est un réseau. Je vois asl comme un logiciel, le concept que chaque node ai un numéro et s'interconnecte a la demande sans setup particulier me plaît même si je suppose qu'on peut obtenir un résultat similaire avec echolink ou svxlink.

@F4IZC Bjr, le concept est différent du RRF?

I really like #allstarlink concept. Tested once when I was in Vegas and testing it on my hotspot at home. Why there only a few of them in France ?

Do you know any firmware to turn a UV k5 like device into a RX only device ? Not just an option wich can be modified in the settings. For exemple for a unlicensed youngster interested by SWLling without any risk to TX, using a cheap device. poke @f4hwn #swl #hamradio #hamr

@F4IZC @f4hwn Early 80s, I was a SWL too spending all my time listening to the radio. During those days, a ham gave me an old heathkit HF trx: "but you are not allowed to transmit". Guess what happened 😇

@f4hwn Merci Armel, je vais creuser le RescueOps et ce que ca permet, sinon ma volonté étais de ne pas "brider" a des mémoires. Garder la possibilité de "tourner" le vfo. Donc a ta connaissance tu n'a pas vu pas de tel firmware dans les depots ?

@F4IZC Tuto rapide: - Tu paramètres FLock sur DISABLE ALL, - Tu paramètres depuis chirp quelques canaux genre PMR, quelques fréquences de relais UHF et VHF, quelques fréquences AERO, etc. - Tu bascules le poste en mode RescueOps Fin du tuto 😌

@K5PO @f4hwn Yeah I think about that for my daughter, but also for exemple for training a group of scout for JOTA-JOTI... And the day they obtain licence, they could flash back the device to a normal firmware. I find something symbolic in that :)

@K5PO @f4hwn Why not, your right it's an option to explore. I envisioned a reversible software solution, with maybe some "scanning" function. A bit like an entry level uniden bearcat (maybe even better) at lower cost and easily deployable.
