@EliasDaler 3rd birthday is one of my favorite PSP games next to Peace Walker, Monster Hunter and God Eater, but I admit this game killed Parasite Eve, just like how Dino Crisis 3 and Resident Evil 6 (almost) did to their franchise.

And speaking of The 3rd Birthday... it looks insane for a PSP game (this is upscaled in an emulator, but still).
I actually like this style of baked lighting more than what I see in most AAA games these days... 😅

Here's what happens when you try landing on a planet during Cruise Mode in Starfield after the latest Free Lanes update. Even you can get quite close to it, you cannot enter a planet without going through the landing sequence by opening the map.

My main issue with the recent MH games is that he outcome of a hunt is now entirely based on player skill
In the older games skill definitely mattered, but preparation, knowledge and planning were a much larger focus, playing into the idea of being a hunter rather than a warrior

@datnofact Those are called "Info Hazards" where simply knowing they exist affects how you play. Now you either have to do it, or purposely avoid it. Josh Stife Hayes explained it perfectly

"you control the buttons you press" is a reasonable response to people getting mad at dialogue choices or character customisation options they don't have to use, but expecting players to avoid optimising the fun out of a game is more of a design issue than a player issue.

@luciascarlet PSP and the NDS are peak handheld design, the size fits into your pocket and I could play on it for hours. Especially with the PSP beast of a hardware, I could play PS2-likes games on the GO.

The game is so much more fun when you put in the time to learn the original control scheme. The game's mechanics and systems are deeply interwoven with the controls, not only is it more fun but at the highest levels of play it's stronger than analogs!
