@AceofSppades @MinModulation I'd argue this is the result of a more literal translation versus localization. Nothing in the statement is incorrect, but the implications lead to a different conclusion

Careless translation is just kind of stupid. Early on in FFXIV, they had altered some characters personalities from Japanese, only to run into problems when they had become major characters later down the line in the first expansion, because they lacked the necessary foresight.

@Mocita12 @BrachyZoid Astral [Darkness] is active while Umbral [Light] is stasis. Correct otherwise, but ShB revealed that common assumption of Astral vs Umbral labeling was wrong

@BrachyZoid My best guess is the aether alignment. Umbral is active, while Astral is stasis. Most Voidsent are always vocal, while Sin Eaters have their mind suppressed and act on instinct. This can be observed in the ShB role quests, as the Virtues basically act on instinct.

So I'm confused. How come Sin Eaters were this feral monstrous apathetic beings that seek destruction but Voidsent are just hungry sad people now? #FFXIV

@JustineThyme89 @Yuushiiron Eh, I more take it as showing she is our version of Cecil. Especially since Dark Knights in XI are a DPS class that can use scythes

@Yuushiiron Without spoiling anything, Zero does something job-wise during 7.5 in a cutscene. I can’t help but think that with all the changes coming in 8.0 and that trailer showing Viper and Reaper that we might be able to do the same thing she does.

I don't think Zero is going to be the Reaper in the Evercold trailer. Instead, I think it'll still be us, just like in the teaser. Similar to Shadowbringers, the Reaper role might be used for "good" this time. I also think the people in the Fourth might be immortal?

@teyrns @AtelierBagur If you're looking at dungeons that you plan on doing daily, optimization is kinda the point. Everyone optimizes and min-maxes, but optimization is subjective. People just look at optimizing based on time more than anything.

@Fadewind @AtelierBagur true. i hate that the end goal of a lot of players is to optimize and minmax their way through everything. if this is the case, though, i do wonder if it's a goomba fallacy or there really ARE many of the same optimization-focused people who are mad about these dungeon changes

@teyrns @AtelierBagur eh, not really. players will optimize the route to take. These should have their own endgame for players who want such a thing. If they add them to seasons, then they'd fix their rewards issues. (And I say this as someone that used to grind fractals in GW2)

@Fadewind @AtelierBagur i have been on the record saying variant dungeons should be the norm! it's so cool and makes each run feel unique with a party!

@invaderzzzz I didn't like AoT. Until a sci-fi youtuber said that it's basically the anime version of Dune and Eren is Paul. Thinking of it that way made me like it

Not sure why this is blowing up all of a sudden, but if you actually read the quote, Isayama's "regret" is that he was too attached to Eren's character to portray him as a completely unsympathetic villain. In other words, he regrets that the ending he wrote went too EASY on Eren.
Dexerto@Dexerto

Attack on Titan creator Hajime Isayama has regrets about how the series ended, saying there is a “sense of insincerity” to how Eren Yeager’s story played out “A large factor was also my own immaturity and foolishness at the time, when I was in my early 20s”

@teyrns OR... ORRRRRR Make the current boring FFXIII hallway ass dungeons to be Trusts only and design all new open ended dungeons for group play. I dont care if this is more resources, just make this content fun like WoWs.

@paolini Honestly I was disappointed on my first read through with this. Then I went back through the series a year or two ago, and yeah. It makes way more sense. They share a braincell half the time. They both weren't ready, but for completely different reasons.

Dude ... it's been fifteen years. FIFTEEN. Give it a break. I published the ending that made the most sense, and you're going to see more of Eragon and Arya in future works, which—in any case—will be a much better version of their story. And that's all I have to say about that.
Markus Weißner@MarkusNer48891

@paolini Give the readers back what you stole when you ruined the ending of Book 4. Keep the distorted ending as the official timeline if you want, but make the ending you originally planned accessible to interested readers

I kept saying to other staff members "when this gets announced this room is going to POP OFF" and I'm so so grateful that I got to be there to feel the reaction to this. Imma need y'all to share reaction clips of streams etc cos I'm living for it. #FFXIV

@MrOwlstanding Not really. Bouncing between the two, there's a completely different bottleneck. The story and endgame structure give a solid if narrower view in XIV. GW2 has a broader appeal, but there comes a point where motivation dies. I say this as someone who did CMs and has legendaries.

@Glitchpuppi @ffxivcatdad The top end WILL grind. Then the midcore WILL gatekeep because THEY want carries. Then the casual audience WILL not participate. ASK WILDSTAR. Every gear system has strengths and weaknesses. To acknowledge no strength is to be blind to your own bias.

@Glitchpuppi @ffxivcatdad an entire tier without getting an upgrade for a slot, it's miserable. Doubly so when you're playing a weapon user and not getting a weapon upgrade. So don't fucking tell me what I know. I've been raiding since 2008. I've been playing the XIV endgame since 2016. I KNOW --

@Glitchpuppi @ffxivcatdad The weekly gates on gear is to also keep things even for those of us with jobs. Just look at how quickly some people blow through relic stuff day one in this expansion. Housing only matters to those of us with a house. You don't have that with an apartment.

@ffxivcatdad The game is a MMO first and foremost, proven by its business model of making you pay $20 for the base game, $40 for the expansion, and the $18 a month just to keep playing. They add weekly gates on gear AND a house demo timer so they keep you 'engaged'.

@KaptinYap This is why I hate the constant use of the Mercator projection. Even when I know things are not accurate, I can't really fathom the size differences correctly.
