adding Cunningham contact status
According to Justin Williams, Cunningham received a contract extension in August of 2023. His original deal, through December 31, 2024, was extended through June 30, 2028.
The extension, approved by the Board of Trustees in April 2023, included an initial salary increase from $475,000 to $650,000 starting July 1, 2023. Cunningham’s salary then increased by $25,000 annually up to $750,000 for the 2027-28 academic year.
Cunningham buyout owed:
Before June 30, 2026: $3.2M
Before June 30, 2027: $1.6M
Before June 30, 2028: $900K

The extension came four days after a home loss to Xavier in the Crosstown Shootout. UC was 6-4 at the time. The Bearcats had gone 18-15 overall, 7-11 in the American, in his debut season. They lost 6 of 7 and 8 of 10 to close his debut season. The extension upped Miller’s average annual salary from $1.31 million under the original contract to an average annual salary of $2.95 million. My wife and I travel the world with our kids. We put them in good private schools. I coach them in sports 30% of the year. Have them experience so much like outdoors, boats at our dock, sailboats, fishing, crabbing, water front basketball court, 10acres on the water for them to run on and play in the water, pool, paddle boards, kayaks, all the electronics…
Fun is part of it. Teaching them to work, religion, helping others when needed, but free handouts are acceptable.
We offer them life experiences now so they can do as they please and have a lifetime full of memories. Not handouts like you fuck-tards feel entitled to.

I think yours is a very fair take on the situation. I’m not really far behind you.
My pick would have been Sean Lewis, but most fans would have screamed even louder if he had been tapped. Kent State is a really tough job, but he had P4 talent on his roster.
John Cunningham has taken a lot of heat over his hire, but almost three years later, there’s not a lot of difference, but Satt is currently trending in the right direction.
I asked myself-would I give Satt a raise/extension? I want to play all the games before making that decision, and I’d be very careful.
My problem is with fans that simply can’t give the guy even an inch.

These are the four names I know interviewed and/or supposedly interviewed with John Cunningham.
-Scott Satterfield: 3-9 in ‘23, 5-7 in ‘24 and 7-1 so far this season. (Cincinnati 15-17)
-Deion Sanders: 4-8 in ‘23, 9-4 in ‘24 and 3-5 so far this season. (Colorado 16-17)
-Sean Lewis: OC at Colorado in ‘23, 3-9 in ‘24 and 6-1 so far this season. (San Diego State 9-10)
-Alex Golesh: 7-6 in ‘23, 7-6 in ‘24 and 6-2 so far this season. (South Florida 20-14)
With 4-5 regular season games remaining this season, a lot can still change, but I think it’s interesting to look at the actual numbers and each fan can try to recall his/her feelings/opinions over this time period. I’m thinking some with remain staunch, but others might rethink things.

The rest of their great players came at the front end of 1st/2nd, and got insanely lucky with Goff trade (who looks average without BJ).
