Can anyone tell me how many years she served and what rank she made it to. My understanding as an ex military wife you aren’t eligible for the pension until you 60-63. Maybe she of that age, but considering retirement age is 67 in Australia why would we give someone that appointment if they do close to retirement.

The way to restore trust in the political class is not to transfer even more power to 'independent' enforcers of 'codes' and 'ethics', aka the Blob. Trust has declined because politicians make promises they're unable to keep in office because power over key policy areas, such as immigration, has been transferred to unelected panjandrums in the Civil Service, the judiciary, quangos, regulators, etc. The way to restore trust in the political class is to restore the sovereignty of parliament, not erode it even further.
