@beichinger_ @PensNHLFan They have space to do it, but I'm not sure that they match. Bedard hasn't been very happy in Chicago, and Chicago media has been calling him a bust.
They may just take the picks to have ten 1st round pick over the next 4 years to build around Frondell. CHI has 3 2027 1sts.

@LoganKane24 @BenPopeCST By every indication year older Ryan Greene is the early favourite for hart trophy

Vaclav Nestrasil continues to rise toward the top of the Blackhawks' prospect pool.
This summer, he’s working on his shooting from distance and using his body to hold onto pucks along the boards.
More on that and other Hawks prospect updates: chicago.suntimes.com/blackhawks/202…

@HotTakeHockey It’s possible I guess but he is pretty much the same player today as he was a 16 year old😅
English

@FinnHawk44 Not IMO for a 22 year old right handed center who still has a lot of untapped potential + recent top 5 pick.
I think Wright can become a very solid 2C in the right situation.
English

@bigheadhcky @makargoat67 Are we sure Levshunov isn’t Dinamo Minsk bound after ELC
English

@makargoat67 For sure. It's just hard to pay Bedard nearly double McDavid's salary when you have Frondell, Levshyunov, and 10 other first round picks without their RFA deals yet while you already have Byram at $12.5m.

If Pittsburgh offered Connor Bedard $20.8m x 7 years ($145.6m - the max possible contract) - Pittsburgh would:
• keep the Sidney Crosby era alive and competitive
• acquire a franchise player to build around after the Crosby era
They own all their first round picks, have $24m in cap space, just came off a playoff appearance, and Crosby made it clear he wants to compete while still in the league.
Who cares about late first round picks when you have a "generational talent?"

Ohhhhh boy
Philadelphia Flyers@NHLFlyers
We have tendered an offer sheet to Anaheim center Leo Carlsson. The offer is a five-year contract worth an average annual value (AAV) of $18M, which would require four of the Flyers first-round draft picks in each of the next four seasons as compensation. nhl.com/flyers/news/fl…

@ByScottPowers @MarkLazerus Someone in the front office should take some responsibility and not let Kyle touch those 1st round picks.

Ten questions the Blackhawks still have to answer.

Yes, I asked Davidson who he foresees playing on Bedard's wing opposite Kantserov:
"There’s a number of guys that could work there, whether it’s a younger guy like Nick Lardis, one of the guys we have planned to play in the middle [Frondell or Nazar] can play on the wing, Ryan Greene’s a year older, Oliver Moore has a growing game, and then there’s a number of different vets.
"A lot of those things are trial and error. Sometimes you work in pairs rather than in threes, so you get a pair and mix and match and see what works from there.
"And we don’t know if Roman’s going to work there. We believe it will, based on the traits and how they play and see the game, but that’s what training camp and games are for. It’s their job to get together and find that little bit of magic... We’ve got a lot of other players that can be complementary and add something to the dynamic qualities that both players possess."

@BenPopeCST Is media gonna ask where the top line winger is at?
English

@Tberg2709 @JFreshHockey Dickinson, Murphy and Mikheyev were the best defensive players in this team will be tough to replace those minutes. I think it’s a lot to expect from Frondell and Kantserov to jump into big roles this quick.
English

@FinnHawk44 @JFreshHockey We are a better team than last year a lot of young players that will be better and a new number 1 defender that I think will prove a lot of people wrong
English

Our new HockeyStats Roster Builder currently has the Chicago Blackhawks forecasted at 74 points, 31st overall, for the 2026-27 season.
hockeystats.com/roster-builder

English

@Tberg2709 @JFreshHockey Honestly think 74 points is quite optimistic with this roster.
English

@JFreshHockey You really just hate the Blackhawks I usually like your advanced stats this one just doesn’t make sense
English

Before people freak out about the AAV please remember that money in the nhl is fake right now
Chris Johnston@reporterchris
Bowen Byram is eligible to sign an extension with #blackhawks today, which would commence with 2027-28 season, and the expectation is that deal will land around $12.5M per season.
English

@Mario_Tirabassi Can we have some tough questions in Kyle’s media availability?
English

🚨BREAKING🚨
The Blackhawks are reportedly signing Bowen Byram to a 6-year, $12.5M AAV contract extension
Reports from @DarrenDreger, @PierreVLeBrun and @reporterchris

English

@ChicagoSufferer Absolute scenes in 2 years when our 12.5M dman will be running PP2 and the 2nd overall pick won’t play powerplay at all😂
English

@FDaniels86 With Norris and Art Ross type of tickets they kinda have to😂
English

@FinnHawk44 Bedard and Byram are both putting up career highs this year though at least
English

@JAYChi_Hawks Never was a fan, certainly isn't playing like a heavy power forward. Good skill and elite shot so there is some pretty good potential if he decides to start moving his feet and uses that frame.
English

#BLACKHAWKS PROSPECT PROFILE: Ryan Roobroeck (LW)
Size: 6'4", 216 lbs (Absolute unit)🔥
Production: 30 G, 58 PTS in 49 OHL games
Play Style: Heavy power forward with an elite shot. Models game after Jamie Benn.
What are you thoughts about this beast?👇
English

@WJCrankings If Viggo goes to camp there is about 0% chance they let him back to Stockholm.
English

Of the 223 players selected, my current prediction is three of them will be full-time NHLers next season.
• Gavin McKenna🇨🇦
• Ivar Stenberg🇸🇪
• Viggo Björck🇸🇪
Alberts Šmits🇱🇻 would be my next guess, but I think he’ll spend time in the AHL too.
