An American-born Israeli soldier was killed in combat in southern Lebanon, Israeli officials said Sunday. Sgt. Moshe Yitzchak Hacohen Katz, 22, was born in New Haven, Connecticut, the Israel Defense Forces said. He was posthumously promoted from corporal to sergeant.
