51 out of 52 countries that passed the 130% debt-to-GDP ratio defaulted one way or another. The one exception… Japan, which is about to default. The US is expected to reach 130% debt to GDP by 2030.

@IndianGems_ We spend ~$120B/year importing crude. Ethanol blending isn't about saving at the pump — it's about shrinking that import bill. The water argument is real, but I'd worry more about being 85% dependent on global oil markets where we control nothing.

Ethanol costs more than petrol, with no savings. It lowers mileage, increasing fuel use. Producing 1L ethanol takes 2,860L water, harming the environment. Then Who actually benefits from ethanol blending?

Benjamin Graham died in 1976. He never saw a Japanese net-net. If he had, he would have wept, because Japan in 2026 is the purest expression of his entire life’s work, rendered at scale, across an entire market, in a language he did not speak, waiting for someone to simply do the arithmetic. There are more than 400 companies on Japanese exchanges trading below net current asset value right now. Not below book. Below the cash and receivables and inventory minus all liabilities. The plant is free. The land is free. The 70-year customer relationships are free. The patents are free. You are being paid, in the form of a discount to liquid assets, to accept a going concern that has been profitable for 40 years. Graham’s original formula asked for a price below two-thirds of net current assets. In Japan today you can build a portfolio of 50 such companies. He asked for consistent profitability over the prior decade. In Japan you can require profitability in every year since the Reagan administration and still have 300 names to choose from. He asked for no debt. In Japan, no debt is not an achievement, it is a cultural default, because the presidents of these companies were raised by men who survived the war and believe that owing money is a moral failing. The margin of safety Graham described in 1949 as theoretical and rare is, in Japan in 2026, the base case of an entire market sub-segment, and it has been sitting there, compounding, while the governance reforms force buybacks and the Tokyo Stock Exchange names and shames companies trading below book and the activists win vote after vote and the successors of the founding families, who do not want to run forklift-spring factories in Gifu Prefecture, quietly sell to strategic acquirers in afternoon transactions that never make the American financial press. You do not need to be a genius. You need to be willing to do what Graham asked you to do 77 years ago, in a market he never got to see, using a screen that takes an afternoon to build, with an edge that is protected by nothing more sophisticated than the fact that almost no American investor can be bothered to open a Japanese brokerage account. The arithmetic is the arithmetic. The margin of safety is the margin of safety. The opportunity is not subtle. It is simply unfashionable, and unfashionable, as Graham understood better than anyone, is the only place where real returns have ever lived.

Imagine due to whatever reason AI capex speed reduces due to bubble burst or any other issue. Whose cash flows get impacted most? A fuel cell company that installed the power solution in 60 days collecting full payment or a turbine manufacturer promising delivery 3 years ahead?

Two friends grew up together. Same school, same teachers, same dreams. One of them scored lower, but the system had a seat reserved for him. He got the job. Stability came early. Confidence followed. A few years later, he’s posting pictures from Canada, the UK, maybe US. Life moved fast for him. The other one did everything right. Studied harder. Scored better. Played by the rules. But there was no seat for him. No backup. Just rejection after rejection. And now the solution offered to him is Rs 3000 a month. So he keeps going. Filling forms, preparing for exams, standing in lines, year after year. 3000 hits the account, but nothing really moves in life. One used the system and moved ahead. The other is still stuck waiting for his turn. And this is being sold as empowerment.
BJP@BJP4India

Elect BJP govt, and I assure you 33% reservation in Govt jobs for women. Unemployed youths will be credited Rs 3000/month in account. Women, too, will get Rs 3000/month in their account. In the entire Bengal, women will be able to travel free in the Govt buses. - Shri @AmitShah #BJPGorbeBanglarSorkar

Income Tax : Surcharge limits need to be revised. 50 lacs annually in a city like Mumbai is nowhere near rich for a family and the burden of a surcharge of 10% additional is just crazy. 15% on 1 cr income is also too much Personally feel surcharge limits should start from 2 cr

Simple intuitive understanding which is obvious is 1.5 x 0.6 = 0.9. so you loose 10% on a geometric basis after 2 turns. But if you do 100 small bets of equal value 50 will go up by 50% and 50 will go down by 40% so you make 105. The entire startup investment is based on this.

In the infamous coin toss, the individual loses while the collective gains. Forget that this is often illustrated with dollars. The point is: the act is self-destructive for the individual, yet beneficial for the collective. It's a nucleation problem: one alone cannot do it, but a few individuals sticking together can access the collective good. #ErgodicityEconomics

Nelco - A part of Tata Group co operating in satellite communication which has done nothing in the past decade. Below Snippet from Q4FY26 shows significant increase in CWIP in FY26. With India on the brink of launching satellite based broadband Co should be a big beneficiary, thus spending on this front.
