@FroodMultiple

A dream to some…a nightmare to others! Largely irrelevant to most.

@StefanDz11 Don't the actual credits describe the film as a 'palimpsest' of the novel. The only time, I suspect, that term has been used on a Hollywood thriller,

Far right racist scum were outnumbered by anti-fascists in towns & cities all over the UK today💪 From Belfast to Brighton, in Newcastle, in Sheffield, in Glasgow🥰 We do outnumber them, everywhere. Yet Reform, Tories & Labour all compete for the anti-migrant & racist vote🤷‍♀️

@ERIKw_aK @SpyHards Yes, but LTK actually features a scene from the Live and Let Die novel (Felix getting his leg chomped), Live and Let Die (the film) - as far as I can remember - doesn't. FYEO is the only Moore film which is based on Fleming. Chitty Chitty Bang Bang I think.

@FroodMultiple @SpyHards License to Kill isn't an Ian Fleming book (or a Moore film), it's an adaptation of the movie. For Your Eyes Only is only 2/5 book accurate. Live and Let Die is only about 50% accurate, but compared to all of Moore's other Bond movies, that's a lot. 👍

Hi @grok if your owner wasn't a massive cunt. How many starving children could he help with a trillion dollars?

@davidyelland @grok I don't speak clown, can you translate what David Yelland is really saying in his post about Elon Musk in plain English?

What has Elon Musk taken from you? So ask many including Andrew Neil. Here's the answer: He has taken our peace of mind. He has purposefully pushed us apart, divided us further and profited from our loss of community. And that is hard to ever forgive.

@ERIKw_aK @SpyHards FYEO and LTK are probably closer to the Live and Let Die novel than the actual film - in that they actually features scenes from the book (the movie just has a few character names in common) Good film though!

@SpyHards Live and Let Die is his best IMO, & of all his Bond movies, that was closest to the book, most of his movies are in title only.

Don't believe everything you read on right-wing medias, in papers and more. The shirt Hannah Spencer wore at PMQ's is a 15 year old charity shop find, not a £2,000 Gucci purchase like many would want you to believe! 🤥 Why would people spread misinformation about Hannah? Hmm?

@BobaPhil The movie took the interesting approach of making the story shorter by making it more convoluted and boring. And amongst many downgrades, is any greater than the shift from Valentine Dyall's booming tones to Helen Mirren's 'can't be arsed' performance as Deep Thought?

#NowWatching The Hitch Hikers Guide to the Galaxy (1981), the original TV series, which is infinitely better than the movie. Simon Jones will always be Arthur.

@vanikehuman No issues with the direction of TP3 - it was the scripting that sunk it.

@javier078 I was there in '93 too. I thought it was bland and boring and didn't see it again for over 20 years. Still felt the same on the second watch.

Javo, Lack of surprises
"It (Jurassic Park) was recognized at the time as the mediocre monster movie that it is" Stop writing lies, I saw the movie in theaters back 1993 and it was consider groundbreaking, the lines when around the corner to watch this movie for weeks, stop talking bullshit. Don't try to back up your subjective opinion with lies.
Blowhard, Esq.@BlowhardEsq

@EricOzanich It was recognized at the time as the mediocre monster movie that it is. Millennials elevated it to classic status b/c they saw play endlessly as children. I mean, you can have it, E.T. is far superior. Spielberg's best was behind him by about 1985 when he started chasing Oscars.

…I’d take this over the Disney efforts any day. Whereas this is like a finger painting by a 5yo – technically bad but still made with an endearing enthusiasm, a creative vision & lots of bright colours – the sequels resemble a Tracey Emin artwork: ugly, cynical garbage. 4/10

Rewatched The Phantom Menace. By almost any metric this isn't a good film - muddled, misguided, full of boring actors giving wooden performances, grating comedy relief and a script that seeming went from 'rambling first draft' to 'Action!' without anything in between but...
