New paper out from GLEL and folks from @uOttawa: The risks and rewards of community science for threatened species monitoring. In it, we describe how #CitizenScience (or #CommunityScience) can be used to improve threatened species monitoring, with caution. doi.org/10.1111/csp2.1…

We just finished a major analysis on the effects of land use on ~ 290 butterfly spp. in Italy: (i) land use effects persist from local to regional scales, (ii) small butterflies and butterflies with short flight curves consistently suffer from agriculture and urbanization.
