@GassedupFr25 @KamenscekI49291 @TheNBABase @EricPincus Kessler is a RFA. DA has a player option. Mitchell Robinson is a solid free agent option but i agree they need to go all in on multiple wings to surround Luka with better help defense and Luka can make any center good as long as they’re athletic. Resign Smart and Kennard tho

Austin Reaves is expected to seek a contract in the $30M–$41M annual range this offseason, per @EricPincus “Reaves' representation should and likely will ask for max, making the negotiating range $30 million-$41.3 million. A compromise will be based on the starting salary (perhaps $35 million), number of years (presumably 3-5), raises, and other details such as options, trade bonuses, payment advances, etc.”

@KamenscekI49291 @RTG920 @TheNBABase @EricPincus Need to solve the center position with a trade. Go for Kessler if they can but get Nic Claxton for vando and DA and picks (use draft night pick). HAVE to go all in on Watson. Give him 28-32 if needed to get him off the nuggets. Tari or Wallace with rest of cap. Bron on exception.

LeBron James was asked if he sees any similarity’s between he and Cooper Flagg’s introduction to the league; being the face of a franchise as a teenager. “I love what he’s doing. I love what he’s bringing to this franchise. He looks like he loves the game. He’s putting in the work. J-Kidd got a little scrutinized early on because they started him at PG at times. I thought that was unfair. I think it’s great to put the ball in somebody’s hands so they can just go through the rough patches; when you go through the rough patches it allows you to grow at a rate faster than other players. That’s what Paul Silas, rest his soul, did for me. My rookie year, I basically stared at PG early on. He allowed me to mistakes and read tough defenses … so, I see similarities in that on the basketball floor. Off the court, it’s a little different.

@TaeThomas716 @MoryMagisSprts @currypistonn Mind you George Hill missed a free throw, J.R ain’t know the score, and Ty Lue ain’t call a timeout (which would’ve kept them possession and get a good look). Ngl if I dropped 51 and being the best player on the floor, all that happened in a span of 2-3 minutes…. I’d be heated.

@LemAndreza @deadboylyfee 28 on a descending contract would be good. He only gave 1 year payouts. Gotta remember teams have an MLE and can take players if they want. Rui will get 12 anywhere on a team. Luke was on a path to a min in Atlanta. Marcus might need 10-13milz

The NBA has informed teams that the league is projecting a $165 million salary cap for 2026-27 -- $1M lower than previous outlooks due to a reduction in local media revenue, sources tell ESPN. Minimum salary $149M, tax level $201M, first apron $209M, second apron $222M also $1M lower each.

@Hamid17_00 @LakersLegacyPod Dort wouldn’t be signed with an exception. Can sign both. However would rather get Watson if LA can as he would fit better with his offensive versatility on the wing. PJ not getting to LA, mavs never trading with LA in this decade😭

Matisse Thybulle is shooting 39.2% from 3 this season (1.1 3pm). He’s the only NBA player w/ this unique Combo of Averages: 1.8 spg | 0.5 bpg | 39% 3fgs Would definitely be a Lakers Free Agent target of mine this Offseason for the Room MLE (or a portion of it).

THE BOTTOM LINE: The best version of the Lakers will come with Luka playing at an MVP-caliber level, Reaves getting back to pre-Christmas All-Star level form, and LeBron being able to assert himself as a screener, short-roll playmaker, play-finisher/off-ball spacer, and a concerted effort as a back-line helper and rebounder. Obviously the others will need to hit shots for the Lakers to reach their ceiling, but the BIG-3 needs to be able to co-exist and it starts with a clear offensive delineation. When all 3 are on the floor, the on-ball pecking order should rightly be Luka, Reaves, LeBron (when Reaves went out, LeBron’s usage obviously up-ticked, and since Reaves returned he just couldn’t get himself going, so LeBron remained the #2). Also, LeBron ONLY lineups have killed this year, so he still has the chops for it alongside the banshee groups. Right now, the two MAJOR X-factors for the Lakers are Reaves finding his offensive rhythm he had from earlier in the year & LeBron continuing this positive trajectory of late as a 3PT shooter. Luka being the best version of himself is obviously a prerequisite.

@JohnnyRocket353 @WITNESSKJ Awards are more distributed now more than ever. I agree he was tasked to defend at an elite level but Scottie was takkng primary matchups. He was the better all around player but MJ was elite at what he did (scoring/perimeter/help defense). Bron is better elsewhere tho.

Quite literally the WORST argument you can make for MJ. He wasn’t even the most complete player on his OWN team. MJ was asked to score, that’s it — and he was GREAT at that. The guy he’s compared to is bigger, faster, stronger, a better finisher, a better passer, a better rebounder, a better/more versatile defender, a better leader, a better 3PT shooter, and a galaxy better basketball IQ. LeBron is BY FAR the greatest Swiss Army Knife in the history of sports, and it’s not even remotely close when comparing those guys through the lens of “complete.”

@SportsStatsFan @cajunboijay @runupdatmun @YIN_and_YANG_oo He was one of the best players in the league. Don’t think we can ignore the fact that he isn’t the greatest defender. He gets hunted on switches. KD was arguably better during that stretch too. Still neither were better than Bron tho on both sides of the ball. Esp playmaking.

@jacksonmattesi1 @WITNESSKJ +/- is flawed in single game sample. He was great throughout the game. Don’t think he should’ve went back out but that’s up to the coach fr. Rui shoulda been in for smart. AR needs to perform like a second option and Jake needs to go shoot 1000 3s next off day. That’s it fr.

Margins like these are why the Lakers just aren’t close IMO. Lakers’ 2-way closing option is Marcus Smart. A contender has a 38% three-point shooter taking those shots off the attention their stars create. Just the reality of the roster.

@AbaeInc Wow a lot to unpack. You obv blame LeBron for LAs failure lol. I didn’t say Bronny as he is a prospect and Knect isn’t. One is 21 and another is about to be 25, both get no minutes. Jj can do better but vando sucks (bad contract too). You’re bugging on everything else.

@ItsUncleRel @D33MUHKNEE @MarketMaestro1 @whopacos @LegionHoops Illegal defense changes matter more now than ever. Maybe early 2000s due to lack of spacing but imagine if a defender had to fully commit to a star now from beyond the 3pt line today. He would def score more but it would be statistically better to defend due to his 3pt shooting.

@Jameshall4735 @D33MUHKNEE @MarketMaestro1 @whopacos @LegionHoops Lmao when you look at ALL the rule changes collectively since 2003 you can see an intentional effort to make the game (scoring) easier for offensive players.
