@barkmeta If more people kept and held them they would not be worth anything like that. Scarcity is what drives the price

In 1999 this Pokemon booster box cost $100. Today it’s worth $500,000. If you put that $100 into the S&P 500 you’d have about $700… Are you still fading collectibles?

In the first edition of The Hobbit, Gollum's size was never described, leading illustrator Tove Jansson to draw him as being incredibly large in her illustrated edition of the book. Because of this, Tolkien added a description of Gollum being small in the next edition of the novel.

One of the first games we played via LAN was Lords of the Realm II, or simply Lords II (Impressions Games, 1996). The mix of managing resources and building your little empire with battles and sieges was really well done. I know the game looks dated today, but the core principles still hold up. Slow-paced, we usually played it in the later hours when reflexes and reaction times for classic shooters like Duke Nukem 3D or Counter-Strike were dwindling. Lords II was perfect for chilled, laid-back gaming sessions. The turn-based part involved growing crops, collecting taxes, crafting weapons for your armies, building customizable castles, and keeping your people happy. The battles themselves were real-time and could take quite a while. I always thought Lords II would be a perfect candidate for a modern remake.

Lords of the Realm II (Impressions Games) was published by Sierra On-Line in 1996. This was among our favorite games to play on early multiplayer LAN weekends. Pace was very, very slow, especially with 4 players, waiting for every person to complete their turn, which could lead to some idle time for faster players. But what a beautiful little gem this was and well worth your time. Unlike other strategy/war games, Lords II didn't have a tech tree. The focus was insteaf on managing your estates and taxes, keeping your people happy, and growing enough food so they wouldn't starve, and to build armies and weapons for sieges and battles. The game was a mix between round-based (the economy part) and real-time (the fights). Army movement and AI was a bit clunky but back then we didn't really notice it; at least not in a bad way. Sieges were a blast and could last quite long!

After Mark Carney’s latest China deal, I’m starting to wonder if Greenland isn’t just about stopping Chinese ICBMs… …but about making sure our ICBMs don’t get shot down by Canada.
