Abdullah bin Zayed met with H.E. Friedrich Merz, Chancellor of the Federal Republic of Germany, alongside Dr. Günter Sautter, Federal Foreign and Security Policy Advisor, during which they discussed the recent developments in the region and the repercussions of the unprovoked Iranian terrorist attacks on the UAE and their serious consequences on international maritime security, energy supply chains, and the stability of the global economy. The two sides also reviewed 🇦🇪–🇩🇪 relations and explored ways to further enhance and expand cooperation across various fields.

Abdullah bin Zayed and @AussenMinDE, discussed enhancing 🇦🇪-🇩🇪 strategic relations, as well as the repercussions of the unprovoked Iranian terrorist attacks and their serious consequences on international maritime security, energy supply chains, and the stability of the global economy.

We strongly condemn today’s attack on the Barakah nuclear power plant in the UAE, which is a blatant violation of international law and a threat to security and stability in the region. The protection of nuclear facilities everywhere is non negotiable.

The United Arab Emirates has once again been the target of Iranian drone and missile attacks. We strongly condemn these attacks. Our solidarity is with the people of the United Arab Emirates and our partners in the region.

@AussenMinDE met H.H. @ABZayed today. Their third meeting in just 10 days highlights the close coordination and strong partnership during the current crisis and beyond. Both reaffirmed their commitment to deepen bilateral relations and expand cooperation 🇩🇪🤝🇦🇪.

Close coordination with partners in the Gulf is essential in these tense times. Tonight in Nicosia I met with @ABZayed of the 🇦🇪 @mofauae. Our shared goal: prevent further military escalation in the region and avert a severe energy crisis. 1/2

Today, the EU reaffirmed its solidarity with the GCC countries during a joint ministerial meeting & strongly condemned the unjustifiable Iranian attacks against them. For the EU, the security & stability of the Gulf region are intrinsically linked to European and global security.

I am very grateful to our partners in #UAE and #Oman for making the first repatriation flights of our citizens to Germany possible. I also appreciate the help from the border authorities in the region for the smooth transit, so that everyone can return home safely. 2/2

Together with my #EU colleagues, I expressed my full solidarity with the Gulf countries at today’s VTC with the #GCC. Iran’s regime must immediately cease its unjustified military strikes against the Gulf countries, #Jordan and #Israel & must reopen the Strait of #Hormuz. 1/2
