while I agree, I think your jumping the gun too quickly. I would wait until a few more major failures, ones that actually matter too, before we start declaring victory.
but it is so far a battle won, unless openAI rebrands it next month like I think they likely will.

there still other AI gen vids out there.
good chance OpenAI could just rebrand it as something else.

they expect you spend like 500 bucks for something 'maybe' decent.
AND, that's subsidized by investors in AI. we don't know the real cost of running these AI stuff.
I can certainly say the 2024 generators took alot of GPU power and a minute. I can't imagine what these larger models cost in computer power.

OpenAI is shutting down Sora and dropping video features from ChatGPT. Disney was previously said to be investing $1B, licensing 200+ characters across Marvel, Pixar, Star Wars & more for use in ChatGPT and Sora.

expensive yes. especially since AI is almost never what you want on the first draft, or even the 100rdth draft. and will give different results with the same prompt.
hard to obtain is more relative, its probably easier then hiring a video editor/creators which is what these companies are selling these products as. although the cheapest (and best option in my opinion) is to still do it yourself.
and seedance isn't the only one out there either. heck I'm like 90% sure I saw an adobe add for some AI gen vid now too. sora going down isn't enough to stop this AI slop.

and nothing to say sora 2 won't come out next month, or disney releases their own Sora even.

if the AI can't be subsidized anymore because disney deal fell through, better to cut losses now rather then eat it for another year needlessly. so the company can hide the true cost of running these AI a bit longer.

that being said, wouldn't suprise me if DIsney made their own behind the scenes.
and stuff like seeddance or whatever its called still exist. so we are still all screwed by AI in all jobs anyway....

@NaisanSama @R10MM02HypeGuy @TFHypeGuy the parts are usually incompatible type for consumer hardware. while it is possible to refit it. its unlikely to happen. these companies clearly don't care about the average consume, only money.
