@a4yssa @zzznangong Damn, I knew I recognized the original but my tired-ass did NOT search. Very odd for someone to AI upscale perfectly good pixel art when you can just like, blow it up in aseprite or piskel (maybe some software automatically did it)

@CloudlessStudio Good music will easily make your game stand out, but it's also a wonderful motivator. When development got rough, listening back to my music artist's songs kept me going; I had to finish the game so that other people could experience them.

I know the gamedev meta now is to make some addictive numbers game or friendslop. But if you are going for something different one of the most powerful things you can add to your games is good music.

Thank you for hosting! Even if I had a rough time finishing development, MuteX+'s unique gameplay washes my regrets away and makes me happy. I hope the winners will enjoy the challenge, but a demo is also available on Steam for anyone curious.

@LiamTwose Building up frameworks is a benefit that people underestimate. I noticed that after working on my first game for a while, making new games was a much faster experience because I had already solved a lot of the "how do I implement this" problems by re-using frameworks.

Another bonus to developing it, is it's enabling me to build up frameworks that I can migrate to other games / stuff in the near future. 🫡 Plus, the more enjoyable you find the process; and the premise, the more you will put into your game. This, for me, is that game.

@tsukishroyanagi yeah I just started omitting certain details but keeping it consistent (for example not drawing dialyn's tiny panda icons on her hairpins, necktie, and hips). It's helped a good bit but there's still so much bullshit on them
