There aren't. There are only those who recognise that the system is made to benefit them and are smart enough to play nice with us as to not lose it. As soon as we make it clear that they'll lose it regardless, they'll immediately revert back to siding with their tribe.

Honor Guards are trained for state funerals, fallen soldier ceremonies, and dignitary protocol. That is their sacred operational mandate. Trump just deployed them as set dressing for a UFC card. You don’t get to call yourself a patriot and applaud this.

People fail to reaize that many American Revolutionaries, specifically the Federalists, hated the French Revolution. The Black Cocade was designed as an explicit rejection of it

It confuses me why conservatives love to gush over the New Deal era but despise the figures and policies that made it possible. This was when the rich were taxed 70% and over a third of Americans were union workers. Without that, we would’ve never made it past the Guilded Age…
