Monad has been relatively strong. My theory is that $MON got decimated at TGE because the market was extremely skeptical of new L1 tokens after Berachain, Movement, and Plasma. But since Monad's execution has been good so far, and the eco is showing signs of organic growth, people are starting to reconsider their stance. MON MC = $270M

@mikeinweb lower gas on complex swaps is huge. multi-hop routes through aggregators become way cheaper to execute, which means better prices actually reach users instead of getting eaten by gas

btw if you are wondering why should you care about Monad MIP-8 proposal: - Monad will become even more efficient - txs fees will drop significantly for some complex scenarios with DeFi swaps, perps, games, order books etc. - basically zero downsides, no breaking changes, full compatibility - devs get lower gas costs for well-structured contracts a win-win proposal

@zayn4pf 340m is the starting line, not the score. every new dex, aggregator, lending protocol that ships on monad closes that gap. the infrastructure is here, now it's just execution.

it’s just barely a 4x, Monad end game is Ethereum which has ~60b in DeFi TVL and Mega ETH is to be the best L2 (capped by 50+ MCL1/MCL2). so, Monad is even underperforming itself here by atleast 10x. while MegaETH is really doing relatively decently below average for an L2. this isn’t to prop MegaETH, it’s just to show that there should exist a wide gap in their valuations or financial capacities as they’re not remotely in the same category for comparisons. MegaETH team knew this, that’s why they went for Monad first, baited us in sooooo easily, got platformed and positioned themselves well as “anti-VC” giving them that narrative boost needed on CT, went for every other new L2 after that and narrative-wise aired a sense of superiority compared to other L2s, then they went after alt L1s and so on. this way, they’re able to force themselves into conversations that they’re in a sub category to. and by virtue of them being underdogged, have nothing to lose but a lot to gain they end up gaining more simply because they’re the top 0.0000001% best in the game at narrative formation and that’s all you need to dominate in this game sometimes as an underdog. they did so well at this, and are also lowkey experiencing the otherside of the bet now as expectations became so high of them - people looking at them w the lens of an L1 (which is structurally superior). not because of anything, but because the work needed to be done as an L2 will always be inferior to the work needed to be done as an L1… why? as an alt L1 you NEED to differentiate yourself from everyone including L2s but as an L2 you can simply ride safely on the coattails of the underlying L1. when you become judged as an L1, you come to realize how hard it actually is to be an L1 not just in terms of technology yadayada but actually in terms of narrative and capital formation onchain an how the magnitude of that lens is much wider than if one’s judged as an L2. idk tho, they seem like v smart guys and they have the best in the entire fucking game (he’s like god at this shit ngl) at narrative formation in Bread, so it’s hard to write them off. now enough side talk, i just think that this chain is fucking live now and while i think it’s +ve to celebrate growth of today from yesterday, and so on, it’s kinda -ve to drag the “stratosphere” of the chain back in by comp-ing it to categories that are below it. Monad end game is an Ethereum 1v1 final battle. our real comp has 56.597b TVL locked in DeFi today while we have barely 339.86m. we’re underperforming by a lot. we need to lock in. we need to blow our own brains out. we need to see the end game vividly and understand all the neural pathways to that reality. it’s really Monad vs Ethereum, don’t let any other gimmick, fool you. gmonad.
