The ICC arrest warrants is a meaningful step forward in the fight against gender persecution. It marks a critical move toward ensuring that violations of women’s rights and gender-based violence are never normalized. Yet, stronger measures and greater accountability remain urgently needed to deliver justice and elevate the voices of those who have long been silenced.

Check out this critical new report from @ClooneyFDN and @chreaamalawi -highlighting human rights violations against imprisoned women in Malawi and calling for legal and policy reform. @USCGouldLaw @usc_humanrights was honored to take part--we urge there to be follow up on the report's concrete recommendations for addressing gender-based violence and fair trial rights violations of women in Malawi as soon as possible.

We urge the @UN_HRC to heed UNSR's recommendation for the establishment of an additional comprehensive independent accountability mechanism demonstrating that the international community will not turn away from human rights violations in Afghanistan.
