Two thoughts:
-Miller probably should slide into the closer slot to see if that works.
-This is a big one: Maybe bring up Eldridge and move Schmitt to SS, which opens up DH. Adames can get ABs when (uh oh) they give Devers some days off.

Many mistakes by Giants staff, players in Philly. Two I questioned most in real time: Vitello leaving Winn in to face Schwarber, Borg failing to send Gilbert. Can't happen. Miserable outcomes. Offense (especially Devers, Adames) not good enough to overcome all the inefficiencies.

Right-handed hitters are hitting .526/.550/1.000 in 20 plate appearances against Ryan Borucki this year. To put it differently, they are pretty much the best hitter in baseball history in those matchups.

It is probably not too early in the year to start tinkering with the roster to upgrade some clear opportunities in the back end. Given that they were just swept and had a brutal first month, some of those moves feel like they should happen soon.

May would be a good month to call up Eldridge. Not as a savior but as a legitimate threat at the plate and someone to put pressure on the big-money guys who aren’t hitting.

Rafael Devers finished the month of April with 6 extra base hits. He deserves as much scrutiny as he as getting. This fanbase is close to exploding.

@BaseballJeff1 They figure out every possible way to lose a game. The doubleheader loss just floored me. They should have won at least one of those. Houser puts us in an early hole every start. Walker has no business closing. I could go on and on and on.

This has been true for years, but the Giants pretty clearly need(ed) to be built from the ground up because many of the current roster issues are a reflection of the draft/signing misses they have had over the past decade+.

I don't know, man. You can't really use Ryan Borucki in the first place, but with 2 outs and 2 left-handed hitters that the Phillies will not pinch hit for coming up, that is probably one of the few spots. If he cannot get through that, then what value does he offer?
