Took my brother out for a spin to see what all the “hype” was about with FSD v14 DU was about. He’s a builder and has always been a bit of a petrol head, so I was interested in his take on a robot on wheels. Fair to say this was not the best drive. Firstly, FSD v14 is having trouble reading speed signs. v13 did miss a few, but for the most part it was flawless. This version is struggling from my observation. With that said, it was still pretty impressive, and my bro noted the power - especially coming into and out of bends. Second, we had a critical moment when it wanted to drive us over a kerb, and then it parked in a disabled parking space, which is not great. Good to take my big bro out for a spin. Are other v14 DU users finding it’s a bit average at reading speed signs?

@zlohnref We got ours to go in frontwords by putting 4 inch white tape inside & 18 inches outside. Also have a laser dot that shines on dash to tell us that we're in far enough! Haven't got the white tape positioned correctly across front yet

If FSD pulls in my garage, but not far enough to shut the door, is that ... Discomfort - I'm uncomfortable shutting the garage. Preference - I prefer not to hit my car with the garage door. Navigation - It didn't quite make it to the pin. Critical - My wife will kill me if the garage door hits the car. I just leave a voice saying tell @Tesla_AI how rad it is that the car pulls in my garage and ask nicely to make it pull forward until it hits the stop block 😃.

I’m just going to say it and I know I’ll get some hate for it, but v14.2.2.5 is the worst FSD release since v14. Constantly in the wrong lane, a lot of weird maneuvers, so many additional nav errors, routing, speed control, parking, and that’s just to name a few. v14.3 cannot come soon enough.

As I've posted a few times now, the rare days are the ones WITHOUT intervention! 3x 2 days ago. Today, drove right by the street was supposed to turn on. Another day it followed a car into his driveway that was 4 doors away from the target address! When it works it's good but, like Optimus, has a ways to go! Was starting to think I had the only quirky one

Unfortunately, I agree with you. Still a good product, but there has been a lot of bone headed navigation along with very abrupt lane changes for me. I like driving on standard but I have to constantly push the accelerator just to get it to go the speed limit. @elonmusk I hope Tesla finally gets some good navigation in v4.3.

@wholemars I want the same FSD that you have! No way would I sit in the back! Can't trust it! Wrong turns wrong address' turns where no street Almost daily interventions 3 yesterday! Need a major fix! Long way to go

Let me let you in on a little secret. All of Teslas 8 million cars can run FSD the same way the Robotaxis in Austin can. Technically, for legal reasons, I have to supervise. But if I was sitting in the backseat and the driver monitoring was off, it would still drive perfectly.

@Teslarati On our first road trip with the rout set in navigation the right signal was on when we were supposed to turn left! Intervened so don't know if it would have turned right Did it twice! Very disappointed on just second drive!

🚨 A couple of things I've noticed after a lot of miles on v14.2.2.5: 🛑 I've had three instances of the vehicle putting on the wrong turn signal. When navigation says the car should turn left, it will sometimes turn on the right blinker. This requires a manual override with the signal stalk, and, if unsuccessful, I have had to take over and turn in the correct direction. 🛑 In early v14 releases, a lot of us talked about "hesitation" or "stuttering." This has returned, but not in the same fashion. Previously, the car would buck forward a few times, inching and deciding whether to take the turn. Now, it is more hesitant to take some turns at intersections, and I find myself using the accelerator pedal to nudge the car to take the turn. I only do it when it is blatantly obvious the car should proceed through the intersection. "Hurry" is what I travel on 9 times out of 10.

@elonmusk Just took delivery of a 2026 model Y Second trip FSD wanted to go the opposite direction of our chosen destination twice! What's up with that?

@Teslarati Just had the download & had 2 interventions same day! Wanted to turn opposite direction than toward destination! Not very impressed as a brand new owner

First thoughts on v14.2.2.5 - ✅ Speed Profiles seem excellent, Hurry did a great job on both Local Roads and Highways. Really smooth lane changes and overall traffic navigation on the Interstate ✅ Parking performance, through two attempts, was slightly improved. No parking on lines or inaccuracies ✅ Slightly more conservative proceeding from stop signs. I felt it had more than enough time to proceed at one point, but it waited for an oncoming car to pass before proceeding. 🛑 Navigation still shows no improvements unfortunately

@Teslarati I'd like to see one small town added to the list. Can they do this in Midlothian, TX, for example. What's the demand in a city of 40,000 people? How many robos will it take to saturate an area that size? Is there "buy in" in a smaller town?

Tesla Robotaxi will expand to: -Dallas -Houston -Phoenix -Las Vegas -Orlando -Tampa -Miami I'd like to see Los Angeles, New York, Baltimore, Philadelphia, Boston, Chicago, Washington D.C., and Seattle make their way onto this list.
