If you have ever been down in the southwest especially Texas - there are a lot of square cage set ups - one notably at the Woodlands HS. It’s one of the reasons in my opinion the southwest has always produced great hitters The American market has developed the rectangular model because of space and the expense of that space It has nothing to do with is best for developing hitters.
