@Xbunnyrabbit @TheFrostPrime "Hur hur. Just dont be sad forehead" Depression, as well known as it is. Isn't known enough. The amount of ignorance surrounding Depression and other illness is baffling. It's not a choice. It's an illness.

@leonhart_1993 @AbeLopezAuthor Changing the buttons is already changing the premise. They showed their logic way of thinking and reasoning behind their choice, and I showed mine. You're right, you don't have to make a choice based on mine, and vice versa. You don't gotta attack me to prove otherwise. 👍

@I_is_like_stuff @AbeLopezAuthor Ahh, the dumbass leftoid changes the premise to make others "feel bad" 😂 No, none of those that choose red do anything to the blue ones. It's your choice to make, I don't have to jump after you

@MadScientist_42 @AbeLopezAuthor Diminishing one's intellect due to virtue of an opposite frame of thinking is kinda a dick move. You're free to disagree with me and choose red. That's your choice. But I don't think bullying someone to agree with your own point is the play bud. But I respect you & your opinion!

Aand we have another IDIOT posing as a thinking person today on, "As the Stomach Turns," on Ecchs. Press red and you live. Press blue and you risk dying if you don't get 50% of the vote behind you at the end of the voting window. Nothing else. Pressing red does nothing but save yourself. Pressing blue potentially takes the gun in your analogy and points it at your head, with you pulling the trigger, dutifully, at the end of the vote unless you get 3-3.5 billion other folks to agree with your particular vapid hot-take. Pushing a blue in this context is an act of suicide, and trying to say it any other way is lying about it to yourself and others. If you HONESTLY wanted to live, you'd have pressed red and expected others to do the same, not enter into a suicide pact with as many other fools as you can deceive into it. Might want to do a long bit of soul searching there clever boy. You need to find one because you just evinced that you don't really have one and aren't very bright whilst we're talking about it.

@uncatherio Choose to kill, partly because of self-interest and also because altruistically I'm a lot more valuable than the average human. But if I knew that the "hostage" was someone really valuable I'd coin flip

An evil scenario-setter has turned half of people into hostages, and the other half into poll-takers. You're a poll taker. You must choose: (1) Personally stab a hostage to death with a sword. (2) Coin flip. 50% chance the scenario-setter kills you. (The hostage goes free.)

@gfodor @gustavo_pch Honestly, I don't think I'd switch. Yeah, it took me a minute to think, and yeah genuinely switching to red would indeed guarantee my survival... But I don't think I could live with the guilt of condemning nearly half of the population to death. I'd believe in humanity.

@gustavo_pch The reason I posted this is because it forces blue voters who have a prior-invariant argument to commit suicide, proving that their argument is at a minimum incomplete if not irrational.

The red and blue button test is run globally, and while everyone is sealed in voting booths the result comes in: 58% red, 42% blue. However, there is a glitch in the global death ray, and a message pops up: “ERROR. PLEASE VOTE AGAIN.” How do you vote?

@TheForbidden6th @BjornW8916 @redtachyon It depends on what you're okay with risking. Im okay with risking myself, but not my child, same way with you. If you dont feel comfortable choosing blue, that's okay. I'm not gonna force ya too either bud. But I'll risk my life to save everyone. Im okay with that.

@_Virus_Kid_ Ironically enough this proves Blue Button is safer than red. If you replace Green as the silent voice that refuse to make a choice of red or blue. Red winning kills everyone choosing green, Blue saves everyone choosing green. Green = Blue.

@doraexi @bigwetbeans @GarrettPetersen The thing is. If every adult presses blue, and every child presses red to guarantee that safety. Blue still wins. Children make up the minority of the world's population, slightly 30%. If Blue wins, guaranteed no one dies. If red wins, people will die. No matter what.

@I_is_like_stuff @bigwetbeans @GarrettPetersen overall if we are to take that in account more people will be pushed/inclined by their close ones to pick red to guarantee safety and will most likely push them back to pick red aswell creating countless circles of red pushers that make voting blue suicide

There is a black button. Everyone in the world gets a chance to press the button or walk away. If at least half of people decide to press the button, nothing happens. If fewer than half of people press the button, everyone who pressed it dies. Do you press the black button?

@Ike68845905 @max_bravado *Man picks up gun and aims it at someone not holding a gun.* Sorry man. If majority are gun holders. We kill everyone not holding a gun. Why pick up the gun in the first place? We all live if majority aren't gun holders. Sorry man, I don't wanna die.

@max_bravado Thats not a bad thing though. If most people pressed red, then only the people dumb enough to press blue and risk playing the game at all lose. Picking red doesnt kill the people who pick blue, but picking blue when you know red is the easy answer does.

@doraexi @bigwetbeans @GarrettPetersen I kinda agree with your point about the father. If I had kids, and they had to make a choice, but they ask me what to pick? I'd tell them to pick red. I'm willing to take the risk myself, but I can never force someone to risk themselves for me. It has to be their choice.

@I_is_like_stuff @bigwetbeans @GarrettPetersen i do understand your point but i still think of it as "kill yourself button vs not kill yourself button" due to the basically almost every single human's way of thinking it's just that to me there's no way a father would let their kids pick blue even if he did want to save people

@RealKhonsu Well, if you decide not to vote, then your life is in the hands of Blue. Red kills everyone that doesn't press Red. That includes those who don't/can't/won't vote. That includes the silent voice unable to make a decision. Blue saves everyone, including the silent voices.

My take on red vs blue: The chance of me being the deciding vote is effectively zero. Given that, my vote doesn't determine whether or not other people live, only myself. I would vote red, as this guarantees my survival. Voting blue risks my life without saving anyone.

@doraexi @bigwetbeans @GarrettPetersen I feel like that might be true, even if historically we've seen otherwise, but I think that's why the button gives it a different frame. A button can help you dissociate from death. If it was a loaded gun or something more threatening, I'd be a lot more on your side. Feel me?

@I_is_like_stuff @bigwetbeans @GarrettPetersen in a realistic scenario nobody would want to actually risk their own life no matter how much they speak about it, there would probably be ~5-10% blue pushers which is why it's really just a "suicide or live" scenario when you think about it

@doraexi @bigwetbeans @GarrettPetersen If I don't press blue and I don't press red and I don't make a choice. I die because if Red Button Pushers are the majority. If Blue Button Pushers are the majority, I live. If I press red, and aid to the Red Majority, I kill Blue and the silent voices. That's my personal mindset

I'm a blue button pusher. Reasons in no necessary order: 1) Many people I love and care for will press blue. Me pressing blue has a chance of saving them, me pressing red does not 2) I would feel bad if I contributed, in however small a way, to the direct death of a non-zero number of people 3) I believe most people will, when it comes down to it, push blue. Pushing blue has the greatest chance of *everyone* surviving.
Tim Urban@waitbutwhy

@FatDogMendoza31 @breakingbaht I'm starting to think this whole thing is about reading comprehension. If someone pressed neither button they'd die if red won because they didn't press red, meaning an action was taken to survive, not to die.

It should be an immediate red flag that a lot of these "blue button" weirdos are women. We can either keep making his mistake or figure this out. Eventually, you have to understand women will lead all of existence into a obliteration for absolutely no reason other than their own need to feel good. You either tell them no at some point, or you die. That's the choice.

The literal only result of picking blue is that you increase your own chance of death from 0% to not 0%. There are only 2 reasons to pick blue: you are stupid or you are suicidal. There is only one reason to try to convince others to pick blue: you want them to die. If you don’t understand this I actually think you are not a human being

@GSJS_1 @JPCatulus @BjornW8916 @redtachyon And now pretend it's the opposite way around. Everyone. Everyone chose red. Unequivocally unanimous. But 2.4 billion slipped and pressed blue. They all die. For what? Nothing. All because of an accident. That's the risk of red.

@GSJS_1 @JPCatulus @BjornW8916 @redtachyon But there's no risk for blue. Everyone chose blue. It was a unanimous choice. Unequivocally unanimous. There was no risk. Assume it's the entire 8 bil people. And even 2.4 billion (30%) accidentally pressed red (children who might have slipped), everyone lived.
