@enunomaduro @X 3 years later and people call it still „formerly known as twitter“ 😵‍💫

this feels like a mistake.. there are a huge php community on @X, and php should maintain a presence where its developers already are 👍🏻

You call yourself a Christian engineer, but you haven’t given your life to Open Source? Huh. What license would Jesus choose? I don’t know if it’s GPL or MIT, but sure as heck it isn’t proprietary.

@WordPress Stop it with the royal "we". "You" don't have it, the community does. In fact, "you" don't have any kind of PHP dependency management and Trac tickets for it have been ignored for years. Only after WP Engine touched it, it suddenly became "important". Funny, that.

@photomatt @DeepakNesss @automattic I'm a bit confused. Is this the thing that you think needs to be added to the Matt vs WP Engine timeline? It's a great achievement, that meditation garden, but it does seem unrelated even to WordPress in general, let alone the attack on WP Engine.

Now that the conflict is still ongoing between WordPress (I mean, Matt) and WP Engine, should I keep updating the timeline?

Dear @bgardner, is it a violation of @FTC paid influencer disclosure guidelines to quote complimentary things about @wpengine in @therepositorywp when you sponsor them? Do you have financial relationships with others quoted in the article?

@IdeaG @DeepakNesss Check out State of the Word, and look at everything coming up with 7.0. @automattic has shipped a ton of amazing things, including plugins and themes for all paid plans on .com, and tons of AI stuff.

@DeepakNesss Yes and you could include some good things instead of just shilling for Silver Lake.

WordPress 7.0 will absolutely, 100% get the new Google Docs-style editing. Authors will be able to work together in real time on a post. The discussion now is around whether it's going to be enabled by default. It's not unusual for such a major new feature to be opt-in at first.

@jonathan_dejong I think we at least agree that both of the things are bad 😁 Enjoy your weekend as well!

@IdeaG And that is perfectly fine to have as an opinion 👍! I see no point arguing about the perceived comparative severity of two separate things. Enjoy your weekend.

And it only took less than 24h for this to pop up on every composer run: "Info from wpackagist.org: WPackagist is now maintained by WP Engine. Learn more at wpengine.com" Which I'm sure is a permanent message that will just shift to marketing. Prove me wrong🤡
WPackagist@wpackagist

WPackagist has been acquired by @wpengine. For over a decade, Outlandish built and maintained this service. Now WP Engine is carrying it forward - with the same commitment to the developer community in the WordPress ecosystem.

@jonathan_dejong I would argue that one message has done more harm to WordPress than the composer messages ever will, even if they are more annoying personally.

@IdeaG As an individual message, yep. But I don't have to see X posts multiple times a day in my terminal. Now I've seen this one twice (gee thanks a lot! 😉)
