Again, I’m not seeing a single “Genocide Don” or “Genocide Trump” post, even after Marco Rubio may become Trump’s new Secretary of State. Where did y’all go? Went on a four-year vacation like Jill Stein does?

If Selzer is correct, and the rest of the polls are off, then we need to have a reckoning for how the media was deliberately creating a situation that would fuel conspiracy theories and violent riots. This is the third time in eight years. People's careers need to end over this.

@deanjens @AntiCommieBecca @missmayn Plus there is also rent in the buildings, utilities, insurance, materials, salary for staff who are not involved in direct care like the office manager, taxes, training…companies gouge but it’s a lot more cost than simply having a babysitter come to your house.

@AntiCommieBecca @missmayn For childcare, about half of the cost is the person doing the care directly, so it's not too hard to get within a factor of two with simple arithmetic. If you pay $12 an hour to care for 4 kids, that's $500 per month per kid right there.

i don't understand this economy when nursing homes are so expensive they bankrupt our grandparents but nursing home aides need to use food banks. daycare is so expensive it eats up one parent's entire paycheck and yet daycare providers only make $10/hr and need second jobs.

Where I draw the line in this election is the completely absurd and ridiculous claim that “both parties are the same” and then making the profoundly selfish and narcissistic decision to sit this one out because Vice President Harris isn’t saying and doing everything you want.

I do wonder what the hell is going on with this. Is the polling bad? Is it because people are prejudiced against Harris’s gender/race? Is she perceived as more left than the Democratic senators in question? I’d tend to think the polling is bad but it’s been so consistent.

Hillary's emails were a story every day despite no actual wrongdoing, but Trump's felony convictions and criminal charges are non-news. Biden's age was front page news for weeks, forcing him to step down, but Trump's advanced age and obvious dementia are never mentioned. Why?

@notcapnamerica did you know that being a divorced man is more predictive of being a Trump supporter than being a white man? I didn't. It shocked me.

It is a *little* weird that "age concerns" have disappeared as a constant focus of campaign reporting and discussion even though the GOP nominee would be the oldest man ever sworn in to the office and is very obviously sharply declining before our eyes.

@mutebranches @not_a_heather Yeah, as an introvert, if someone asks me a deeply personal question I just deflect and then spend the rest of the encounter with that person wondering why they want to know so much about me.

@not_a_heather Like I'm a very shy person, but small talk is obviously where you get most of the actual depths. Ask someone outright about the "big questions" and you'll most likely get a loada hollow nothing (like the OP post there)

@45lovingpatriot @bridgetmcgann It’s tradition. The nominee’s home state gets the honor of being the one to elect the delegates needed to put the candidate over the finish line. You’re trying to make this sound like some sort of scandal and you’re just clueless.

@InternetHippo California alone could decide elections if there was no electoral college. It's a good system.
