@RedWolfXIII @CloudxAerith Be done exactly for the sake of preserving the original outcome, unbeknownst to them. Nothing of what happened in Remake nor Rebirth precludes in any way shape or form that by the end of Revelation everything will go full circle exactly back to the OG's ending. Nothing.

Arguably, killing the big whisper ended with Sephiroth taking control of some of the whispers which is not great lol

Sometimes it just makes sense to simply play the game and really pay attention to what is being said. This was answered in Remake Part 1. So to answer the question, Is AC is more canon to the OG than the Remake? YES because AC is what would've happened if they had failed in Remake

@Oceaniz96 The Remakes' moogles are ungodly, unholy abominations that haunt my dreams. The one scene where Cloud turns into one for a few seconds has unironically eternally marred Cloud for me. I can never look at him the same knowing that, even if only for a second, he turned into... THAT.

I broadly enjoy the aesthetics of the FF7 remake but its version of Moogles remains one of the worst things I have ever seen

@mistwalker1985 @aitaikimochi Yes Cloud remembers the Nibelheim incident, but his memory is wholly messed up and he has replaced himself with Zack and removed his grunt self as much as possible from the narrative. Thats the whole point of that specific arc in the LS. Remembering what ACTUALLY, really happened

No, You're missing that Cloud is remembering before he was in the Mako tube with Zack which are memories that was Nibelheim 5 years ago. For the second he remembers Zack's tales that he told him while he was mako poisoned AFTER the tube while riding towards Midgar on the back of the car. In the original there are moments when the real child Cloud speaks to him at parts reminding him that his real persona is still in there. It wouldn't make sense that Aerith wants to meet the real Cloud because she doesn't know that he ever met Zack in the first place, but she senses that he's role playing another person. His 1st class persona is invented because he felt shame to not live up to Tifas promise hence why he borrowed everything from Zack, in what he saw and what he heard him tell him.

FF7 Revelation Director Hamaguchi says in an interview with Brazilian website Omelete that there is one scene in the game that he personally cries every time he watches it. The scene in particular is when Cloud enters a very introspective moment and discovers the truth about his identity and how it connects to Zack and Aerith. He thinks the team portrayed this moment in Revelation very well, and he's excited for fans to see it!

@mistwalker1985 @aitaikimochi Yes, it is a charade, but one he is FULLY convinced in. It's only after north crater and then the LS sequence that he realises it was all a lie he was telling himself. Cloud is 110% convinced of what he says throughout the game as far as his 1st class persona goes.

Yes, Zack is never mentioned by anyone, when Aerith is adressing her first love she never said his name, but she knew that Cloud was not himself hence why she said she wanted to meet the real Cloud in the Golden Saucer date. The Lifestream sequence from the start is because Cloud became extremely mako poisoned when he fell in alone after giving Seph the Black Materia and lost his mind totally, but before that he was consciousness that he was playing a charade as he says. In the remake and OG games he remembers that Seph killed his mother in Nibelheim and the joke of 2000 gils that his mother thought him. What muddles the lines are the jenova cells and Tifa hesitating asking him directly because she's more confused how he can remember everything that happened but she never saw him, but Zack instead that was there.

He is seen in the flashback induced by Seph at the crater and then if you revisit the mansion in Nibelheim you see the scene of his death, that's it. They want to expand on all these elements with the Remakes.

@mistwalker1985 @aitaikimochi You're missing a VERY important point of this scene and what happens next, Cloud here is still SEVERELY affected by mako poisoning and, after this is over, goes to Midgar alone where he collapses again. Once Tifa finds him his new personality and memories kick in. He doesn't know

@mistwalker1985 @aitaikimochi Yes but Cloud doesn't know the full truth behind his passing and still sees him as a 1st class SOLDIER colleague, not as his beat friend who sacrificed himself for him. There's nuance that is lost on Cloud because of his fake personality and altered memories. Lots to unpack still

@ItaSpectre92 @aitaikimochi Zack is alive in one world fyi and Cloud already met him at the end of Rebirth when they fought together and Zack said "You must save her", which he refered to Aerith, and Cloud (as in the original) knew that Zack already passed when he stole his story for himself.

@mistwalker1985 @aitaikimochi Nothing stops them from extending the scene so it encompasses Zack's and Aerith's passing. The Lifestream Sequence is all about Cloud remembering and rediscovering himself, all about the "Revelation" of what really happened. It makes perfect sense to me.

I think that will be disconnected compared to the Lifestream scene. Cloud (and somewhat Tifa) can see different realities and then we have comatose Aerith in Zack's world etc. Lifestream scene may be in it but that is the truth of Nibelheim 5 years ago and centers around Cloud and Tifa's past and childhood.

@BabalonM15 @aitaikimochi I'm pretty sure someone did and he implied that moment in time in Revelation will be the equivalent of the date in Rebirth so, you can probably get different scenes with different characters and different variations depending on relationship level and possibly outcome of sides

I'm listening to more of Hamaguchi's Q&A for FF7 Revelation Day 2 in Shanghai, and at one point he's like "is it just me, or are there bolder questions today?" LMAO 😅 Someone asked him "What would Sephiroth think if he saw Cloud's crossdressing?" Hamaguchi says that's a difficult question lol. However, given that Sephiroth is present throughout the entire Remake series, he thinks sure, perhaps he did indeed see Cloud's crossdressing. However, he asks the audience what Cloud would think knowing Sephiroth could see him, and the crowd says he probably felt embarrassed. Hamaguchi himself thinks Cloud would feel embarassed regardless if it's Sephiroth watching or anyone else lol.

@BenRiley83 @DashingDavidYT I did, VII was my first ever FF, then VIII, IX, VI, X and so on and so forth. It ain't that bad. There have been lows (*cough* XV *cough*) but it's also been decent. The Remakes are mostly great too, not too partial to their endings so far but everything else was incredibly fun

@JamieCharlesEl1 @Pudi2G The fallacy here is that the Remakes are not action games in the vein of DMC, so OBVIOUSLY you're not going to find what you want in them, you're comparing apples to oranges. The combat is super in depth and can be quite "techy", you just have to learn the timings, menus are fine

@Pudi2G Why would i buy 2 games and play on hard mode to test if my grievance with the games combat not being as deep as i'd like, holds up? I fail to see how a hard mode is going to suddenly make the game play like my preferred action games, DMC.

Square Enix, I beg of you. Keep Hamaguchi's VII Remake team together for a new project after Revelation is done and dusted. Together they're creating an incredible trilogy of AAA games over just seven years. Give them a mainline FF.
