The move to left-back has been a masterstroke for Kukonki’s growth. His technical security is already top, but seeing a player of his frame move that fluidly without a hint of sluggishness is honestly wild. He’s evolving into such a well-rounded player, it’s clear his development is being handled with real care. You have to give it up for the coaches at Carrington—they’re clearly operating at a different level right now.

Sesko’s back to goal play is excellent. The 3rd goal vs Brighton should be a template for Man Utd moving forwards. Sesko dropping and linking with Mbeumo in a high goalscoring position. Also because Mbeumo is a more deadly finisher than Sesko at this point of his career.

Sancho needs dynamism around him to be optimised. Key reason why Sancho-Hakimi was an elite partnership. But I’d rather give Palmer the dynamism (Reece) on the right and have Nkunku in my XI at 10.

Whoever said Maguire has declined is not in their right senses. An absolute pleasure to watch. So much authority and assertiveness. A towering wall in the box, at setpieces & in the high press. He prevents you from defending low—definition of a high line/proactive CB.

Compared to Foden, as an interior, Palmer has better weight of pass, better understanding of what pass to play and better timing of when to pass. How he chose to not to pass to Saka and wait for the Watkins run instead, for the Netherlands assist. How he instantly whipped it out to Saka for the equaliser vs Spain. Inside right with runners outside and inside of him is how he is maximised.

@rajsinghchohan Are you surprised he spent so much time at LB and on the bench this season? I know playing him at LB was due to injuries, but 12 months ago he looked to be the most promising young CB in the prem and this season has seen his progress really stall imo

Shame that Colwill picked up injuries this season, tailor-made to be the Maguire successor as that leader CB type. Would have been ideal in this squad instead of Dunk. His development is going to be the key for England looking ahead to the future.
