World Wetlands Day — 2nd February Wetlands ecosystems is facing significant threats worldwide, with a report of 411 million hectares of wetlands have been lost since 1970, with an ongoing annual decline of 0.52%.

🇳🇬 Nigeria takes a major step toward a fair and inclusive climate future! The @NCCCNigeria, in collaboration with @UNDP, @ilo, and @UNIDO, convened a 2-day Validation Workshop for Nigeria’s Just Transition Guidelines & Action Plan (Oct 6–7, 2025). 🌍

🔹 Day 2: High-level validation by officials from MDAs, Parliament, & development partners. DG NCCC, Barr. Omotenioye Majekodunmi stressed that “Nigeria’s transition must balance energy security with climate goals—leveraging gas as a transition fuel to reach Net Zero by 2060.”
