I agree that we shouldn’t respond to the “longest ballot” nonsense by making it harder for independent candidates to get on the ballot, for example by increasing the number of constituents’ signatures required. But we absolutely should prohibit official agents from representing more than one candidate, or constituents from signing more than one candidate’s form. That would make it much harder to stack the ballot, without prejudice to bona fide independents.
