I know ... for Canada ,,, the "new" agreement on the Howe bridge really only means it will take 7 more years to get paid off ... but the whole thing stinks ... Trump & his henchmen will run around saying the beat us into submission .. Really all he did was finish off the remains of any trust Canada has had with the formerly great nation to our south ..we will see the bridge open and trade will flow ... But the stench from the rotting remains of American democracy would not have been restrained by a closed bridge anyway

The US is nearly 80% of Canada's entire trade. 34% of Canada's entire GDP are US companies in Canada. 33% of Canada Pension Fund is invested in US markets. You can add that up and figure it out for yourself. There is very little diversification, few deals worth much and all MOU.

The U..S. has extorted toll concessions from Canada to be generated by the soon to open Gordie Howe International Bridge, for which Canada paid 100% of the construction costs. The original deal was signed in 2012. This latest example of bullying shows America is a mafia state.

One lesson of the Trump years: the US signature on an international agreement is worthless. There was an agreement in place to govern the bridge. Trump repudiated the agreement at behest of a donor with a direct anti-public-interest stake.
