It was an honor to speak at @ChromoPalooza! In case you missed my talk: we can probe the material properties of centrosomes (green) using optically-induced flows. Fantastic collaboration with @KreysingLab.

@ManuelTHERY Here are some of the holy texts: 1. Brangwynne et al. 2009 Science (the old testament) 2. Li . . . Rosen 2012 Nature (the new testament) 3. Feric . . . Brangwynne 2016 Cell Those papers lay down the main principles behind biological phase separation.

@smburgessucd I'd recommend getting a plan Apo objective. You get flat field illumination and correct for chromatic abberrations. The best "bang for your buck" camera is definitely a sCMOS. The Prime 95B is great. The Andor Zyla is also a good choice.

Does anyone have a suggestion for a camera for my fluorescence microscope? Mine is going on 20 years. I want to get the best resolution for the buck. We primarily use it for looking at chromosome spreads. Here is a picture of our 100X objective. Should we upgrade this as well?

I'm hearing lots of great things about a certain colleague 🙂. @florianjug should tell everyone to do their post-doc at UT Southwestern!

Talk by @RetoPaul at #LSFM18 was sooo amazing! In my point of view the most innovative optics contribution we saw so far. If this doesn’t make a splash... what would?

@IGCcentrioles All that fresh fish, and people still go for the dried bacalhau! It boggles my mind!
