@MediaZaban865 @jwareli90885 Legal Div of SAPS doesn't help. They didn't do anything for 7 months neither advised the NC. So their legal view is rather an after thought. And so far no one has given a law that says Minister consult...I haven't seen any

Gen van Rooyen (SAPS Major-General, Legal Division) key points: 👇🏿 □ The authority to disband PKTT lies exclusively with the National Commissioner of SAPS, not the Minister of Police. □ The instruction by Mchunu (the Police Minister) to disband the PKTT falls outside the mandate or authority of the minister. □ The transfer of 121 dockets from the KZN PKTT to national HQ (by Gen Shadrack Sibiya) lacked the necessary authority and undermined the provincial commissioner’s oversight. #AdHocCommittee #MadlangaCommission

@JabuMTS @MediaZaban865 He never kept quiet. For 6 months he was making noise in appropriate channels who didn’t help his cause. He didn’t disband the task team.

@jwareli90885 @MediaZaban865 The establishment wasn't consulted on, so maybe there's a gap in the system. But in my view, the consultation angle isn't useful. The issue should be is what the Minister did illegal or not, whether he consulted or not doesn't matter (in my view)

@JabuMTS @MediaZaban865 On a crucial police operational matter, he chose not to consult the Police management which is responsible for operations. Does that make sense? Good, Police Commissioner delayed or stopped the disbandment. Criminal cartels were alrdy celebrating the nonsensical decision.

@MbuyiseniNdlozi I don't think he said Pikoli advised him, but said he gave the letter to him to review, but the decision was his.

Vusi Pikoli… we are told, gave the legal advice to Mchunu for the “immediate” disbandment of PKTT on New Year’s Eve. This is that Pikoli most famous for advocating against political interference. Very strange indeed! I hope Mchunu produces the actual written legal advice as proof!

@MediaZaban865 Minister consulted Pikoli but couldn't consult SAPS top brass, NPA & other stakeholders. Gen Mkhwanazi even requested a meeting with him but he & his Chief of Staff decided to secretly record Mkhwanazi's telephonic conversation. What's wrong with this Minister? Strange behaviour.

I was hoping when Sibiya blamed PKTT and came up with a list of cases that haven’t moved in years, some waiting only for warrants of arrest to be signed, that MPs will look him im the eye and point out that: “Wait, this issue was already raised by Gen Mkhwanazi. We're told the delay is on the NPA side — Adv Harrison confirmed it,” But instead, as MPs you let it slide. Seeing that loophole, Sibiya exploited it, going back to this point, swaying public opinion. PKTT does its work, those dockets that haven't been touched in a while, moat are because of exactly what the complaint is about: NPA withdrawing cases, NPA not signing warrants of arrest, NPA being captured to block progress... Not one asked the obvious follow-up: “General Sibiya, if you know these cases are ready for arrest, why blame the investigators when it’s the NPA that’s stalled?” The silence allowed a false picture to form that investigators are sleeping for years but angry over 3months of dockets removal to Pretoria when in truth they’ve done their part and are WAITING. Please we trust your passion, can Parliament connect the dots and probe further with follow up questions, corrections and pointing outs where needed🇿🇦⚖️

After dozens of witnesses, hundreds of questions, scores of implicated individuals, millions spent on travel, accommodation, food and other services, WHAT WILL BE THE DESIRED OUTCOME suitable for South Africans?

Mchunu thinks we are all from Ngwelezane. Disbands structure in December 2024 based on a May 2025 organogram.

@Xola_Nqola Mhlonishwa, why is the evidence leader acting more adversarial than inquisitorial with witnesses? Is the Evidence Leader a Prosecutor or Impartial Advisor for the Committee? I just want to understand his role as some of his evidence leading is confusing
