@sodarntom Small sensor size / deep depth of field is one, as for many of them there is a lack of dynamic range compared to mirrorless sensors, so they look “video-ey”. I’ve guided people to less practical mirrorless options simply due to image quality over a camcorder.

So what's the deal with modern camcorders? Like the really nice 4K ones? Why aren't they more popular for applications like YouTube compared to mirrorless?

@_chuckyc Same. Plugging into a dock for monitors and peripherals means I never really need MagSafe to charge. But with a dock, video interface, and 10g Ethernet adaptor, I could use a spare TB port!

Some more piping cold takes: I am surprised to find I would actually rather have the extra thunderbolt port instead of MagSafe on my MBP

@_chuckyc FWIW, I support half a dozen patreons (at a very low monthly level) simply because I want to support them, with no expectation of extra content. I’d do it for Launched too.

Patreon may be a decent avenue, but again, the numbers are low enough I’m not sure I’d pull in enough to make it worth adding the workload of bonus content of some kind 🤔

I’m beginning the process of booting the @LaunchedFM machine back up now that summer break is almost over and, once again, wondering if I could ever monetize it enough to pay for a good editor 🙃

@edmoore Yes! I switched to FastMail for email because of this, but Google do have an option to keep going for free if you tick “personal use”. So bloody frustrating.
