The late Mandla Maseko (30) 🕊️🕊️was an aviator, qualified private pilot, and military officer who served as a Candidate Officer and Corporal in the South African Air Force (SAAF). Tragically, Maseko lost his life in a motorcycle accident on the 6 July 2019. He gained international recognition as the “Afronaut” after winning a global competition in 2013, beating more than one million applicants to secure one of 23 places at the Axe Apollo Space Academy. He completed elite training at the Kennedy Space Center in Florida, which included G force tolerance exercises, skydiving from 10,000 feet, air combat manoeuvres, and a zero gravity flight aboard the “vomit comet.” Upon successful completion, he received a certificate of completion from the academy. Maseko was selected for a sub orbital spaceflight aboard the XCOR Lynx Mark II spacecraft. However, the mission was cancelled following XCOR Aerospace’s bankruptcy in 2017. Despite the setback, he remained a powerful source of inspiration across South Africa. Through public speaking engagements, he encouraged young people particularly children to pursue careers in science, technology, and space exploration, becoming a symbol of ambition and possibility for the continent.

@luthandolay @Khu_Ntshavheni It looks like we are in the midst of a deliberate gradual democratic erosion. They're pushing for disorder so to declare a state of emergency & use brutal force to rule using the army as an excuse to bring about "calm & restoration of order". @MYANC is pushing for dictatorship!!

It’s a profound pity and national embarrassment that such reckless, anti-Zulu rhetoric is coming from a senior politician like Minister in the Presidency @Khu_Ntshavheni. Today she launched a veiled attack on us as Zulus — equating legitimate cultural pride, demands for isiZulu in public engagements, and mobilisation around our identity with “tribalism” and a “ruse” for xenophobia. She went as far as implying that those who assert Zulu language and heritage are treating fellow South Africans (and even brothers from Namibia, Botswana, Lesotho, Zimbabwe, Mozambique) as foreigners in their own land. What utter nonsense. And dragging the Zulu King and monarchy into her political deflection? Leave our King out of your failed attempts to divide the nation and cover up government incompetence on borders, crime, illegal immigration, and service delivery. The Zulu nation has a proud warrior legacy that helped shape this country we will not be shamed or silenced for simply asking to be addressed in a language spoken and understood by millions. This divisive drivel from the highest office is dangerous. It pits tribe against tribe while real issues burn. South Africans are watching, Minister. @CyrilRamaphosa @PresidencyZA @Khu_Ntshavheni Do better. Stop inciting tribal tensions for cheap political points. Respect the Zulu people and our institutions. Unity cannot be built on erasing one of the largest and most influential nations in the land. #RespectTheZuluNation #StopAntiZuluAttacks #NoToDivisivePolitics @azania1023 @Knick_RSA @GovernmentZA @ewnreporter @MYANC @MkhontoweSizwex

Seven men aged between 24 and 44 are expected to appear before the Giyani Magistrate’s Court on Thursday, 07 May 2026, following a major police breakthrough linked to a violent robbery at Hlaneki Mine in Limpopo’s Mopani District. The arrests stem from an incident on 24 April 2026 at about 23:00, when a group of approximately eight armed suspects allegedly ambushed security guards at the mine in the Giyani policing area. During the attack, the suspects reportedly robbed the guards of a firearm and two cellphones. One of the security officers later died from gunshot wounds sustained during the robbery, prompting police to open cases of murder, robbery, and assault. Acting on intelligence, a multidisciplinary operation involving the Mopani Tracking Team, Highway Patrol, Mopani Infrastructure unit, and Mahosi Security was launched on Tuesday, 05 May 2026. Police identified and monitored a silver Hyundai Staria believed to be linked to the robbery before tactically intercepting the vehicle along the R81 road near Kremetart in Giyani CBD. A search of the vehicle led to the recovery of four unlicensed firearms and 95 rounds of live ammunition, including 75 revolver rounds and 20 rounds of 9mm ammunition. Investigators also recovered two cellphones confirmed to belong to the security officers who were attacked during the mine robbery. Preliminary ballistic investigations have further linked two of the recovered firearms to other criminal cases reported in Giyani in April 2026 and in Welkom during August 2025, raising suspicions that the weapons may have been used in multiple violent crimes. All seven suspects are currently facing charges relating to the possession of unlicensed firearms and ammunition, possession of suspected stolen property, and illegal immigration. Police confirmed that six of the suspects are foreign nationals from Lesotho. Limpopo Provincial Police Commissioner Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe praised the coordinated efforts of the police teams involved, describing the arrests as a major breakthrough in the investigation. Police say investigations are continuing and additional charges, including murder and armed robbery, are expected to be added as the case progresses.

Where are ALL the LEGAL immigrants? Why are they not vocal about their fellow citizens who came here illegally? Why is it so easy to accept the lies their constituents have told about us? Why are they not educating their people about the truth! Do they not know the laws?
