I would be freaking out rn if I didn't already have a plan in place to leave this man very soon. Visit from the landlord today. Told me two neighbors have complained about my husband threatening them, and if they get one more complaint they'll evict us. Can't wait to leave!

@_imperfectfaith @offhandmanor1 At least they'd feed him there! He might have to open the package of soup crackers, but I think he'll survive. Then he can tell the prison cooks they don't know what they're doing and that he's a much better cook than they are.

@JaneLebak @offhandmanor1 Lol exactly!! And he knows it. I've told him for years that if he gets himself arrested for fighting I will not bail him out. And with his previous record he knows he'd be in jail a long time.

@godandchocolate @MbProfesora It does function in tandem though with a system that says works don't matter and only faith matters. If only faith matters, then you can say it's important and make zero life changes or attitude adjustments.

This is what I’ve suspected. When people say young men are becoming more religious, it isn’t the case that they’re attending church or practicing any religious discipline in a statistically significant way

@LostLittleStars @JosiahHawthorne But that requires facing the remote possibility that something one did might have harmed someone else's faith, and then one might have to change one's behavior. Change is hard. Change implies we ourselves are not perfect. It's easiest to blame the victim so she goes away. 😔

@JosiahHawthorne I don't understand the lack of curiosity these people have. If someone told me they can't stand going to church because of the people there, I would be asking questions & listening. I would feel sorrow with them they had had such a bad experience when it shouldn't be like that.

@ChristianityOn My whole class was reading on a 12th grade level in 4th grade. Based on what I see on Facebook, it hasn't helped all of us that much. 😂

The funniest way this was described to me was, "Once a 4th grader with the reading level of a 12th grader, now a 25 year old with the reading level of a 12th grader."

The neighboring town's cultural council is having a drop-in thing where you can read or sing or otherwise perform. I have two serious poems I could read, or one humorous micro story. They both take the same amount of time. Which do you think I should read?
