1,700 nurses in Chicago just filed a huge petition to unionize. The petition from the nurses at Chicago’s Rush University Medical Center demands better pay, improved benefits, and increased staffing to better support both nurses and patients. In 2025, almost 40% of registered nurses plan to leave the profession within the next five years, citing burnout, low pay, and heavy workloads as the root causes. If successful, RUMC nurses would join another 6,500 unionized nurses in Chicago.

It’s got to stop, which is why I joined @janschakowsky and @RepKevinMullin to introduce the Protecting American Consumers from Robocalls Act to protect Americans from scammers on the other end of the line.
