@Nag__Hammadi @MetroUK Yes if they have the list of common IP addresses, but if it's a homebrew VPN the amount of work it would take to track that server i.e wireguard and Linux would take more man power than they have got, and with the app stores, side loading the APK would still be possible

Government will ‘come back to VPNs’ in next step of social media ban trib.al/Z7g5njZ
English

@HannasWorldUK17 It won't happen for many reasons, they would have to shut most nodes extremely hard to do, certain VPN providers are in countries where the UK has no power, and 3rd u can create ur own VPN and for them to find the IP of every home made server/ VPN would not be possible
English

@BasilTheGreat @BBCNews Yeah ok this is the govt that can't get NHS IT systems to work right, good luck seein them remove every VPN out there 😂😅😂

🚨NEWS: Keir Starmer is expected to ban VPN’s in an announcement next month says a Government spokesperson

@Pallavi_345 There are technically 2 purple braves now if u include brave origin lol
English

@kapilansh_twt What the hell are u running in brave?? I can't get mine that high if i tried
English

@benonwine Just build ya own server, then VPN, just a TOR browser and Linux OS job done 👍

Labour says a further statement on VPN’s will be made in July, with restrictions now being discussed following the social media ban.
This should concern everyone, not just parents or teenagers.
Millions of ordinary people use VPNs to protect their privacy, secure their personal data, and browse the internet without being tracked. The idea that the government is now looking at restricting access to them is a step in the wrong direction.
History teaches us that free societies encourage people to think, question, and challenge those in power. Governments should never be afraid of an informed public.
As the saying goes: “When governments fear the people, there is liberty. When the people fear the government, there is tyranny.”
Privacy is not a crime. Questioning those in power is not extremism. Freedom, once surrendered, is rarely won back without a fight. 🇬🇧

@NatashaNonBuono It won't happen the amount of work it would take for them to do it would be enormous, and u honestly think the govt that also can't run the flaming NHS IT systems right have the knowledge to remove all VPNs yeah ok 😂
English

@BigRedGreybeard @thecoastguy Rebuilding prob abit extreme but would be difficult for them to monitor someone that has their own server and VPN, i.e wireguard openvpn, can't see how they could ban them yeah block app store vpns they could do but then u would just side load them on via APK
English

@thecoastguy In what way?
Bearing in mind I'm an IT networking and security consultant - please explain to me how banning consumer VPNs would involve "dismantling and rebuilding the internet"?
I really wish people would stay in their lane.
English

@Britains_rights Don't worry about VPNs they clearly have no idea how they work, they can't ban them as u can create your own server and VPN, plus how are they going to monitor ports and TCP 😂
English

If you’re in the UK, install a VPN app now. It might get removed from an App Store any moment.
I’ve been in a country where this happened.
I know how this plays out.
liam :)@aquablvd
possible ban on VPNs in the UK when many companies require them for secure remote working get me out of this country

@lorahmoe As a parent and someone with 19 years driving experience/ a PCV (bus licence), i 100% agree with u unfortunately i have seen far too many young ones crash kill their friends not due to them being bad drivers but not having the experience to react in time tht comes with experience

My daughter asked if she could ride with her friend’s older brother to a concert.
The older brother was 17.
I said no.
Apparently this decision caused widespread outrage among the youth population.
Because about thirty minutes later, the older brother called me himself.
He explained that he was a very careful driver.
I asked how long he’d had his license.
Six months.
Six.
Months.
Then he tells me,
“I’m basically an adult.”
You know who says that the most?
People who are absolutely not adults.
I told him my answer wasn’t changing.
He sighed dramatically and said,
“You’re making this harder than it needs to be.”
Actually, you’re making it easier than it should be.
Because now I know exactly why my daughter won’t be riding anywhere with you.

@ovierocks1 How is it fear mongering they have literally said it's happening and ID being required at device level, trust me the overreaching is happening it's not fear it's reality
English

@Jason87r Weren’t these the same fearmongering arguments from the Covid years? They were nonsense then.
English

@RedDyke69 @ClaireT13274488 Oh the irony u plank calling someone stupid when actually moron u will need to supply ID at device level when starting phone like apple do, try doin some research before calling people stupid u thick prick
English

Hopefully there will be a platform for stupid people like you.
You won’t need personal identification to access social media , just age verification . If you are too thick to know the difference Google it you plank.
At least you have been helpful for one thing. People keep saying the under-16 social media ban will make life impossible for kids cos they won’t be able to talk to their mates. You’ve already shown that’s not true. I wouldn’t go near telegram, but WhatsApp still works fine.
English

So with all this digital ID coming into place in U.K. , as soon as they implement it on adults , I will come off all platforms and download telegram instead , I’m not going to comply with their demands of having to sign in with passports, credit card etc everytime I wanna go online . I will miss most of you when it happens
English

And it begins, exactly what i told people would happen, not just a social media ban, they are not goin for games as well, it has fuck all to do wiv the govt what games my child plays and i also already have time limits and parental controls install as I'm not a lazy parent!
Enderman@Enderman
NEW: Keir Starmer confirms that Minecraft will be included in the under-16s social media ban. “Fuck the kids” said Keir Starmer
English

@Zokko18 No jus telling us to use our phones for phone calls we need to give apple / google our bloody driving licences and passports, coz they have a fantastic fucking track record of keeping data safe & secure, we don't want kids on social media but we also don't want USA havin our IDs!
English

@floboflo On social media, what we don't agree with is state control without democratic support, plus us parents that actually already have parental controls in place don't need the nanny state telling us give ur ID to fucking Google/ Apple to use ur device, they aren't secure
English

@floboflo Give me strength, it's not about wanting kids on social media it is about the govt imposing rules without public votes, this will open the gates to them pushing anything through without support i.e bank controls, movement controls and so forth, we all agree that kids shouldn't be
