Heads up, Indy! Additional road closures will be put in place today as downtown Indianapolis continues to gear up for the NCAA’s Men’s Final Four Weekend. Today, Meridian Street will partially close from St. Clair to Michigan. Michigan Street will partially close between Meridian and Pennsylvania. Additional closures will occur over the next few days. Due to the ongoing weather in Indianapolis, we’ve made a few changes to this week’s trash and recycling schedule to keep everyone safe. There will be no residential trash, heavy trash, or curbside recycling pickup on Tuesday, Jan. 27.

Due to inclement weather, there will be no trash or recycling pickup today. Both Indy DPW and LRS collection services will be paused for the day. All pickups will be pushed back one day this week.

Travel should be limited to emergency management, public safety, healthcare workers, and other essential personnel, including utility crews. We want to give a major shoutout to @IndyDPW crews who have been working around the clock to clear roadways as conditions allow. They are still hard at work, so please give them plenty of space. We also want to recognize our IMPD officers who continue to brave the snow and cold to keep you and your loved ones safe. Despite these efforts, roads remain extremely slick and difficult to travel. 🏠 Stay home if you can, stay safe, and we will continue to share updates as conditions improve and it is safe to travel.
