I'm so excited to be sharing our new product with the world. It was a huge honor to be part of this project and I can't wait to see what the world builds with it! #fcp #fcpx #ipad

@bencbartlett This rotation technique was used in the original Smalltalk-80 BitBlt! archive.org/details/byte-m…
English

Recursively rotating segments of an image rotates the image itself

@DominicCarterLA @baezfelipe A NAS is fine. FCP has a mechanism to ensure you only open a library from one client at a time. Cloud storage is harder because services may not sync the whole library bundle at once. Cloud services with strong bundle consistency guarantees should be fine, but few meet that bar.
English

@baezfelipe I’ve had my libraries on my NAS for over a year with no issues or corruption. Now I’m terrified. A lot of my libraries had proxy files embedded. So were larger in size. My goal is to keep less external hard drives connected. Whole point of buying a NAS. I edit from the NAS
English

PSA: DO NOT store your Final Cut Libraries in ANY cloud storage sync service, be that Dropbox, Google Drive, OneDrive, iCloud, Synology Drive or LucidLink, yes, including LucidLink. Either store it locally on a folder that doesn’t sync to anything or use @postlab_app

It's amazing the difference a few days and the right light can have on a scene. Last weekend, the trees on Sheffield St. in the Manchester neighborhood of #Pittsburgh were mostly green. Yesterday they were the perfect mix of fall color with some absolutely perfect evening light.

@Vordio @macvfx Mat's correct about the use of `xattr -d -r com.apple.quarantine`, but gatekeeper (the system service responsible for this) caches information about each file so you probably need to re-download the file from vordio.net and then re-run `xattr`.

@MarcSettle My father-in-law once marched into a Starbucks and asked for some Yuban. He was approaching 80 at the time and fresh from helping me sand drywall. And wearing a tie as a belt. I think he enjoyed playing the deranged old coot...

@jimmyg Compressor does support TIFF image sequences and I would assume 16/32 would be handled. Try it and let me know? (And yes, doing well!)
English

@JimGrandy Hi Jim, hope you are well! How do I generate 10-bit HEIF images from 16/32 bit TIFF images? The built in conversion tools like Preview only support outputting 8-bit HEIF images. Perhaps I could use OpenEXR instead?

@editblog @marcplanb FCP will cluster GPUs, but only if they are identical and are on the same bus. So two identical PCI GPUs in a 2019 Mac Pro will cluster (that's particularly nice when they are connected via Infinity Fabric), but FCP will never use an eGPU and an internal GPU together.
English

@marcplanb 👍But can it use both internal and external or will it only use the one selected in the Render/Share GPU?
English

What’s the current status of #FCPX and external GPUs? Anyone know?
That little Prefer External GPU checkbox is gone from the Get Info but for other NLEs where it exists you don’t have to use it, they just see the external GPUs.
