In case your’e wondering, the UK-has: - no exo-atmospheric Anti-Ballistic Missile interceptor system - No layered missile defence architecture - No integrated national system protecting our cities or infrastructure. Our best system is the T45 Destroyer with the Astor/Viper. But it’s primarily a fleet protection asset. The fact is that we and Europe depend heavily on US detection, US interceptor missiles and platforms, and US command architecture. The harsh reality is that capabilities amongst European states, incl. the UK, are very limited and patchy indeed.

The Union Street fire story gets worse and worse.
-shop was run by Pakistani nationals
-did not have a legal licence to sell vapes, were not even registered
-owed £10k of business rates from last year (council sent bailiffs after me for being 3 weeks late on a £2k payment.)
-the shop was sold to a new owner only 2 weeks ago
-fire was apparently caused by an overloaded vape charging station. They most likely had multiple extensions plugged into the one socket.
-Allegedy a woman had rented a room for her business upstairs and was due to open for her very first day of business literally the next day
-foreign scammers are already setting up fake gofundme's to try and scam locals who want to donate to help the business owners.

When I first read about a game called Baldur's Gate in one of the many print magazines still around in the 90s, I started counting the days until its release. As an old-school pen-and-paper Dungeons & Dragons player from the 80s (and well into the 90s), I couldn’t wait to get lost in what promised to be the best RPG set in the wonderful world of Faerûn.
I pre-ordered it at a local store and checked in almost daily as the release date neared. They probably thought I was a bit odd. I didn’t care. The anticipation, the agony of waiting, the joy when it finally arrived, the first time opening the box, installing the game while inhaling the manual…
And then the first time the game loaded on screen… unforgettable memories. Baldur’s Gate was like crack for D&D nerds like me. If you’re an RPG fan, I’m sure you know the feeling.
