the uk senior swe market has split in two. ai company roles paying 120 to 150k and then everything else scraping along at 80k. who is accepting 80k for senior engineering work?(especially in London) the difference between the US and the UK is simple. america treats software engineers as specialists. the uk treats them as IT support with a different title.

if i said this to a human engineer, it would be a 6 week timeline. claude just did it in 90 seconds. it is hard to overstate just how amazing this is. it literally took 90 seconds. in 2022, this was called "a complete refactor"
